Yeah whatever they can do to remove the ridiculous competition amongst the management and keep the brand needs to be done. Make them Campbelltown tigers. Balmain isnt the area they should be focused on. Keep the tigers branding and give it to wests, if there was a legal way to do that in 5-10 years i think the game would be much stronger for it.

Definately go South West. Campbelltown stadium ain't too bad either IMO. I'd rather invest funding into that then Leichhardt.

The Brisbane Tigers are well established. History can be traced back to 1917. Its been floated on LU that they take a new licence and the Magpies replace WT. But with all the Balmain fans I think you can't lose the Tigers name.

Brisbane Tigers and McArthur Magpies makes sense in a lot of ways. I mostly just don't like the idea of rewarding the Magpies for what appears to be 50% of the destabilisation. Like rewarding one of your kids when both of them are acting like shits to each other.

I am not sure there is a easy fix for the tigers unless they push a younger board one with no ties to the past.Richardson while I don’t know what he is in trouble for with the nrl.Got to give home credit players are signing and the brand is sellling making a profit

Giving contracts to his son, without looking elsewhere is my understanding

If we look at the two merger clubs, neither has had continued success and it seems to come down to back room power struggles and ownership issues.

Players will always sign with the Tigpies and the Illawarra Dragons because the salary cap is guaranteed by the NRL, so getting paid is a given.

It's pretty obvious to the average punter watching the Tigpies implode that the boardroom doesn't, and has probably never, been on the same page.

And in reality, it's a legacy from the creation of the NRL trying to keep a couple of foundation or really successful club logos alive despite their failures financially. Didn't save the Bears back then though, Manly put a stop to that...

My understanding of this mess (I’m happy to be corrected), is that the Balmain side of the joint venture is broke and the Magpies are providing the majority of the finances. Yet, the Balmain mob wants to have most of the say how it all runs.

Pretty much in a nutshell.

So similar to the saga that has been the Dragons/Steeler's merger over the years. St George were broke, got a shit load from the NRL to merge, took everything the Steeler's could offer, then got bailed out again by the Gordon family business WIN television and they still battle each other in the boardroom.

We all know the Steeler's got the rough end of the pineapple in that deal...

The dragons Steelers are different in a sense of the dragons have money no real large junior area the Steelers have no money but a huge attachment junior area
The tigers have no money and with demographics changing over the last 40 years have a very small junior area the magpies have both money and juniors There lies the problem the New Jersey is all tigers the magpie as a logo is disappearing

Shane Richardson's general appearance is BOGAN like. His facial hair and beer gut looks like someone who doesn't care about his appearance and in my humble opinion does not portray the right image for someone in his position.

That said he has done a fair job . PS I'm waiting for the flak!!!

How he looks doesn’t affect his ability to do his job. He had a beer gut in 2003 and in 2014. It didn’t stop him leading the clubs to premierships. If he had a body like Sorro and the looks to match, he still wouldn’t be able to sort out the West Tigers board.

He is in his 70’s and having seen him recently at a function I think he doesn’t look too bad. I met him, shook his hand and thanked him for 2003, a great Penrith era.

That is my understanding too. The Balmain side (to some extent) believe that they're more important than what they actually are. Add in to the mix that when the joint venture started it was Balmain with all the power and money imposing their 'temu tigers' onto the joint venture.

Club would be far better scrapping the colours, mascots and emblems to begin again. Got a feeling that the last jersey was the cherry on top for the magpie section of the board.
