It's interesting to see what fans from different clubs find acceptable.

From the Cows/Broncs game thread:

"We haven’t won the comp since 2006 so yes, club in crisis, you would have to have a pretty shitty culture to think not winning the comp since 2006 is acceptable"

If someone here said that they would get absolutely smashed because they are being negative.

Bulldogs made 2 grand finals under Dessie and all finals series except one. That wasnt good enough for them.

Fringe top 8 is not successful. Its average. Successful is being a top 4 side and premiership contender

As a Panthers supporter, you get used to mediocrity... doesn't mean it's acceptable.

Hopefully we can be a regular top 8 team in the coming years... a premiership or two would be nice too.

Watching 2007 round 3 Vs Broncs. All QLD commentary who don't know what's going on.

"What was that penalty for hur dur"

Sideline commentator: "Priddis was offside"

QLDrs "Crickets"

Yeah at the start of the year anyway.

Some deadset nuffies in the team at the end of the year. Mark sparkles O'Halloran, nick Youngquest, Brendan Worthless, Richie Williams.

Also a few rated players who never delivered in Jarrod Sammut, Junior Moors, Geoff Daniela and Brian Norrie. Norrie sucked bad for us. But Bellamy turned him.into a good player a few years later

Newcastle were arguably worse that year - we smashed them with a few rounds remaining.

However they won their final round match and we lost to the Warriors.

Got them back in 2015 though. ;)

They got us back you mean.

Knights shitty side we destroyed 46-12 had Luke Walsh, Brad Tighe and Adam Woolnough in it... those merkins shipped them off to us. Along with Clint Newton. Thats 4 players from a terrible side who we willingly brought in at various points after thst season.

Not satisfied with that, in 2008 they started their plan to ruin us with Wes Naiqama and Cam Ciraldo.

They got the final laugh in 2007 by avoiding the wooden spoon, but we then won the 'spoon bowl' in 2015.

Just the thread to ask this random question...

I'm seeking advice / clarification on the timing of a first grade debut.

I've been doing some research on Steve Carter for an article I'm writing and noted that before he debuted at Penrith in 1988 that he had played a season at the Barrow Raiders in the second tier Championship in 1987/88.

So whilst Steve Carter had made his Australian debut at the Panthers, was his first grade debut actually at Barrow? My initial thoughts are yes as it was in official competition, where teams if they were good enough would be promoted to the first tier (whatever it was called before Super League).
