Are any panthers fans now concerned Nathan might seek a release on compassionate grounds to follow Fowler to England ?

Nathan Cleary to the UK. Am I the only one who thinks it's not that crazy of an idea?

3 time premiership winner and likely to win 4. Has won Origin and a WC. He is the best player in the world. What does he have left to prove? There is only one other competition to consider and his girlfriend happens to be living there.

Go live in the UK with Mary for a couple years. Win in the UK comp the same way Joey tried to. Our benefit is setting up relations with a UK club like Warrington to ferry talent. With the way RL is tracking our sport will look very different in the next 5-10 years.

It's not my preference but I won't be surprised if it happens.

If Nath goes to the UK he isn't half the competitor I thought he was. The man I see is too driven for that. He wins several more premierships and cements himself as a no-brainer choice as an immortal in a decade or two and moves himself into the conversation for greatest halfback and even player of all time. Cements a legacy for his Dad/family as well. I can't see him throwing all that away, especially when there's no reason she couldn't move here.

The idea we can't win in 2025 is way off base too. If we have Nath and Yeo (fit) we can keep doing this forever.

Off topic but hoping someone here can help me with an IT related question. My wife and I leave for a holiday to Europe 6am this Saturday (yes I know its bad timing) and are scheduled to land at Dubai Airport at 8pm which is right on kick off against the Sharks. I have Foxtel Go and 9 Now but neither of those work overseas. Anyone know how I can watch the game this weekend and again if we go on to the GF? We will be somewhere in the north of Norway for the GF so unlikely to find a pub with the game on.

I use Watch NRL, its a great service. I would have to consider leaving Thailand if I couldn't watch the Panthers play every week!

These points don't stack up I'm afraid.

Nathan Cleary has nothing left to 'cement'. Literally nothing. He isn't some up and coming young player with a point to prove anymore.

And then there is Mary Fowler. She is playing for a small club called Manchester City...she isn't leaving to go kayaking with Nathan on the Nepean.

I'll take a wild guess and say she is also quite competitive and wants to win a premiership (Something she has never done in the EPL). She isn't going to 'throw that away'.

Here is the real argument for Cleary to stay in the NRL:

- England is a shithole
- NRL/Penrith will offer more money
- Manchester City win in 2025/26 and Fowler moves to Australia for shits and giggles to play A-League

And as for 2025 we are ahead of ourselves. But as it stands its already a tougher ask than any other year this decade. We are losing big talent and don't have a home ground. The second bit hasn't set in with most fans yet.

I haven't even read Buzz's article yet. In fact I haven't read one since I was a child.
