Gus is the Trump of rugby league. Will put the clubs mid to long term future in trouble to get his shiny new toy.
Exactly.

It took me a good long while to realise this fact, when he was at Penrith. Look at the deals he did for Reg and DWZ they were just plain silly.

Also what happened with Trent Merrin, paid huge overs for him, only to shovel him on a couple of years later.

You could see Brand yAlexander in the last 12 months becoming increasingly frustrated with Gus's behaviour, and unwilling to see things through. Gus was continually looking for shiny new toys to 'fix' issues within the club. TBH in hindsight sacking Ivan was an example of this too.

I heard it said in the last 12 months of him being at Penrith, it was like 'walking on egg shells' around him. This is dysfunctional behaviour, that Penrith did not need.

The Roosters could be without powerhouse prop Spencer Leniu for the opening three rounds of the season after the rep star was charged for his high shot on Newcastle’s Phoenix Crossland during Sunday’s heavy defeat in Gosford.

Leniu was hit with a grade 2 careless high tackle charge for an incident early in Sunday’s clash and can accept a two-match ban with an early guilty plea but risks an extra week if he fights the charge and loses.

---

No Spencer for our round two clash against the Roosters.

On another point, same old Roosters. Their forwards are constantly in trouble for this kind of thing. I'd also wager their own players suffer more concussions than other teams on average.

Roosters copped 34 charges last year, for 24 weeks on the sideline - which is the most of any side.
19 players in total copped charged, and 3 players had 3 or more charges (JWH, Radley and Crichton).

This excludes the suspension Suualii copped in Origin too.

Absolute grim reading.

Can't find numbers on games missed due to concussions, but the eye test would suggest you're right.

And this seems to be a year on year thing for them, which indicates issues with their training and tactics.

Great stats thank you.

Its the brand of football they play. The game has left them behind. They need to sort it out.

Robbo has suffered from being too loyal to his back to back premiership winners.

Radley, JWH and Chrichton have looked off the boil the last few years and haven't been reined in (acknowledging Angus had a good season last year).

He added Smith and Spencer to the pack who are also loose units and play with no discipline.

Cordner was the calming influence and he's been out of the game for years.

Keary was never a leader in the halves and was held onto for too long. Teddy still thinks he'll break every tackle attempt and burst out the other side.

Most media pundits and the vast majority of neutral fans don’t believe we win a 5th in a row.

It’s opinions, doesn’t mean too much. They may all be proven correct, very few teams have gone back to back never mind four in a row.

i tend to not think too much about a fifth straight premiership I think 2025 is more about remaining a strong competitor, being good enough to compete for a spot in the top four. That will be an achievement in itself. We shouldn’t get ahead of ourselves.

Seems the Tigpies will soon have all 3 May Brothers. This car crash will be epic to watch unfold

Firstly is Tyrone contracted in the super league. I think coming back to Australia might be an unwise move. Especially with the media's inability to never forget previous issues.

I tend to agree, with the biggest issue young Taylan, Who it appears is incapable of staying off social media. Not a good mix.

Hopefully Tyrone has sorted his life out, and is in the process of becoming a semi decent human being.

I don't know much about Terrill but they all seem to come from 'a shallow end of a very murky gene pool.' :p

All good footy players no doubt. But W/T will have to have some strict controls over their personal interactions with the wider community and monitor their social media use.

Perhaps even lock them up all week, and let them out to play the match...:p

As a life long Panthers supporter it really saddened me when JFH left. He will ALWAYS be remembered as a legend of our club BUT sadly over the last year or two his form has dropped. I hope for his sake and the Warriors he can regain something like his best form.
