Question..... on your last tackle what happens if you kick a drop kick instead of a punt into the in goal area?

I often joke to a friend of mine that if I were an NRL coach, I'd coach my team to get within 25 metres then kick field goals (obviously need an expert goal kicker).

If it is done well with say 3 or 4 consecutive kicks you could simply gas out the opposition by forcing them to have multiple consecutive defensive sets.

Thought about it myself before.

I like taking the 2 but kicking it to your tallest winger across field. Or grubber ahead and score yourself lol.

I think there is a rule though? You must make a genuine attempt at taking the 2? Don't know what counts as genuine though.

Seems we are wearing the black and gold strip that doesn't represent the club for the finals.
It looks nice but it's not ours

I used to think the same thing growing up. ✌️

Has an elite flavour to it. Worked wonders in round 1 and it will be a good reminder for the Sharks if we face them in the finals. I'm sure the players had a big say in it. Little things like that have a subtle impact.

I loved the black and gold back in 2016. I liked the 2017 strip too but was disappointed we moved away from the colour configuration so quickly.

If we lock up 5 then we absolutely have to run a brown and white strip as our alternate/finals strip next year. Winning one in every one of the clubs major colour combinations during this run would be a stupid flex. Then you trot out the 2007 (or somewhere around there) away scribble strip just for fun.

I'd be dropping 5k on the 6 peat commemorative jersey if that happens. What I would give for a premiership in the mighty Brown and White.

That disgusting teal jersey would be the ultimate power move. Maybe for #7 if we get there.

I'll never understand this fascination with the brown and white. It was ugly then and its ugly now. The least popular jersey in the ARL even when we are a competitive finalist. It is history, let it reside in the memory along with mullets, flares, cork platform shoes, high waisted jeans, newspaper print shirts, tie dye tee shirts and Joe Dolces "Shaddup your face".

Black is where its at. Everything good that has happened at Penrith has been done wearing Black or, err, Pink.

I think that some of the recent brown jerseys have been quite nice.
- The 2024 Heritage Jersey was a ripper.
- The 2006 40th Anniversay Jersey was nice too as the brown was super dark, and almost black anyway

Where the brown/white combo falls down is that it's incompatible with the red/yellow/green stripes.

And if you get the wrong shade of brown and do any sort of gradient, your eyes do some weird things. You will get yellow on a white background, and copper on a black background.

Honestly, I think we should be looking at running a white jersey for next year's finals. A modernised take on the licorice allsorts - like the 2019 Away Jersey. Would only clash with the Dragons, and I don't think we need to worry about them making the GF next year.

I love that white one. Looks super slick and still looks good with the strips

My first Jersey was this style, will always have a soft spot for it. Slightly earlier than this, would have been 80 or 81.
