Eight weeks.... this is an absolute tradgedy for us, you only have to look at Germ's performance against the Cowgirls to see how important he is to our team.

He does so much in leading us around the park and has a great kicking game. I know it's not what anybody wants to hear, but we'll really struggle to make the eight without Germ, and to be suspended for eight weeks for a 2-3 week offence at best is an absolute joke!!

Ryan Cross gets six weeks for a f**king eye gough for Christ's sake!! Wake up NRL you are a laughing stock if Germ is not downgraded under appeal!!

They let Hindmarsh off to play Origin, where's the consistency???

Agree that he is going to be a big loss but his game against the cowgirls was his best game all season by a distance, i dont think he has played consistently well all season, he has had some very quite games. I also rate Withers as a hooker so i suppose dont see it as a huge loss in that position. What i think we will really miss is just another old head leading the guys around, but i think that will be remedied somewhat when Adamson comes back.

On the ban absolute joke!!

Yeah, you've got a good point, he has been up and down, I can't wait until Adamson returns either, but I think to have a chance without Germ we'll need Smith (Jason, not Tyran) and Adamsom to play every remaining game...

I agree though, Withers is a gun player and could be our X-Factor!!

Withers is more than capable at hooker, that is his favoured position and tounge is still to come of the bench. Just need Smith and Carney to step up

Withers is a much better hooker. Germ reminds me of an 80's hooker that is like a tough nugget who wants to mix it with the big guys. These days a good hooker is one that has great acceleration off the mark (Linc) and gets the oppostion on the back foot. Withers could be the key to our run in to be honest.

He does so much in leading us around the park and has a great kicking game.
Surely you Jest Rock? Germs kicking game is like 1ply toilet paper - crap, messy and a pain in the arse.

I reckon its our season too. You can say what you want about Wooly, but we tend to fall apart when hes not on the paddock.

I'm in two minds about the situation. On the positive side, I get to see a glimpse of our future and I think we can potentially become a much sharper team with Linc in the 9 (based on Woolford's general form this year). On the other hand, It's a shame that Woolford's season is gone like that, just as he was starting to hit some better form. With so many injuries we certainly don't need the loss of one of our better and most experienced players.

Finally, I think it's an absolute disgrace that our penalty system effectively ruled that the tackle has been the second worst incident of the year. I know he has a bit of a history, but mate, compared to some of the things I've seen this year...

Exactly everyone on the paddock gives up hope without woolford,he means just as much as smith(jason) if not more to our side. I always know we are in for a tough match if i see the "(c)" next to crokers name, no offence to croker who is a perfect stand-in and unlucky not to get the first pick as captain a few years back....but i dunno its just the way it seems to me IMO.

All,

Can anybody shed light on Mick Crocker's tackle on Brett Hodgson on the weekend? The NRL website has Crocker down for a Grade 1 Dangerous Throw in the charge sheet and down for a Grade 2 in the text below that. Does his tackle compare to Germ's tackle in any way? From memory it wasn't real flash and Crocker has only copped two weeks.
Did he put in an early plea? Also, does Crocker have a judiciary record? I'm not trying to bash Crocker, just wondering at the consistency of the judiciary.........

no consistancy in the judiciary as demonstrated this week esp I am not a raiders or germ fan at all but geez it is rough when other dirtier acts get such short suspensions

Crocker received a grade 1 charge. His tackle was far worse, is less spectacular than Woolford's because he had his hand between Hodgson's leg and drove his head into the ground. Far far worse than what Woolford did.
