GET RID OF MCRONE

He was very disappointing in the key periods of the game.
- Kicking the ball straight to Pearce on 4th tackle on the opposition line when we needed points
- not setting up for a field goal attempt on the last play of normal time and handing the ball to Vaughan to take a hit up.
- allowing Sele and Friz to kick when we were in good attacking position
- and the dreaded 7 tackle set kick. There was no need to take that risk at that point of the game. Got to play the percentages at that time of the game
I know we can't pin all the blame on him, he wasn't terrible by all means. He lacked support from Mann, but for a 150 game 'veteran' he should've had the experience to provided us with direction we needed.
The big question is who do we replace Widdop with? Mann played himself out of a spot, I don't think field is the option at this stage. And from all reports Nona has been hot and cold... fingers crossed Widdop isn't too far away

Next year is will be McCrone and Hutch as our reserve grade backup halves. Mann and Nona will be moved on.

Some very irrational forum members this evening

McCrone has been playing his best for some weeks now.

We will look to 2018 for a better 7

I'll say it now McCrone will move on not point in him staying.
Nona if not given a go will go back to the Q Cup.
Hutchison will probably be turned into a 13 if kept and he may move on anyway.

I am not going to crucify any of the players for today's loss.
Yes we lacked some polish when Widdop went off but the effort was there.

Wipe the cum from your chin
Mcrone is no world beater but he has done well and played his part in our run so far
Also very sound defensively

If we looking to the future and we're trying to win a comp we should have tried Mann Duffy or,Field.with Widdop and given one of them a chance 5 or games.Macrone had his chance last year and at best was average.

That's complete bullshit, Dugan going off caused Mann's shift to the wing.
Without doubt, our worst period of the game!
Mann missed about 100 tackles playing 5/8th. If Mann was playing well at 5/8th they wouldn't have moved him to the least important position on the field. They would have put Thompson to centre where he has played before, Sims to his second row position and had either Lafai or Aitken move to the wing.

I'm one of Manns biggest fans but he was not working at 5/8th this game what so ever, be it because its not his best position or the fact he hasn't trained there in about 5 years.

I could compare loosing both Widdop and Dugan ( for a short period of time for Duges ) similar to the Storm loosing Smith and Cronk , or any teams chief playmakers .

Their absence totally knocked our attack about , and it was only a lionhearted , although somewhat disjointed , effort that kept the team in the match .

As we know , McCrone had the kicking duties after Widdops retirement , the man attempted to get the teams attack moving , but unfortunately did not possess the same skills as his captain . You can't hang the poor bloke for trying .
