Not all of us. Those of us against it from the start have a right to point out it weakened us in what ended up being a tight game.

The worst I've seen Penrith in a long time.
I really thought the Storm were going to put 50 on us, so credit to the team for fighting back when it would have been easier to lie down.
The choice to leave Naden on the bench was a poor one.
May is a great utility and should be used as one.
Anyway 2020 has been a shite year.

A premiership would have been a fitting way to cap off 17 straight wins but it wasn’t meant to be… today at least.

I’m convinced a premiership is in our not too distant future. And when it comes this team will look back on this night as the failure that taught them the lessons they needed to succeed.

It had some bearing. There’s a lot more reasons we lost, but the team with Naden starting at centre is better. We had no speed out there.

Naden seems a tiny bit quicker than Olam but it's not anything dramatic. He could threaten more, hit the line at speed and make the Storm's defence go backwards to make an extra 8 metres on a couple runs but looking at the results he's produced this season I don't really see him making a big difference. The only time Naden's beaten his opposition centre one on one to set up a try was a couple times against Ramien. The rest of the time he had an overlap. I can't think of any time's Naden's thrown a successful pass against rushing defence in a fraction of a second so there's no reason to think he would get the ball to To'o on any brief overlaps Penrith created where May held it.

Naden may have been able to chase down the first try in the second half, he also would’ve helped improve our attack in the first.

As I said, there’s a lot of reasons we lost. I agree we were horrible across the board in the first half, but I also think we’d have been better with Naden.

It made no sense to change the team dynamics this late in the season, Ivan totally panicked.

Naden got ran down by DCE who had come from other side of the field to chase him down. No way in the world he runs down Vuni.

Being able to attack on the right makes the left more dangerous as well, because you’re not constantly going that side.

Just on Cleary people judge things too much on stats like try assist and tries. Rewatch the try where Luai threw a cut out pass to Mansour. How did the overlap gets created? It was Cleary having a great run and getting a quick play the ball which created the opportunity for Luai. Luai got a try assist for it but he didn't create the overlap. Most of the credit for that should go to Cleary. Things on a Rugby League field like tries don't happen in a vacuum. You need to look at things with context.

One thing that I noticed is we bombed 2 almost certain tries early in the game and a few chances because our players on the edge did not DRAW AND PASS. We passed too early and that allowed the Storm defense to slide.

Edwards was the worst one had 1 defender inside him and one outside him and he shifted the ball out too early and they covered us. He holds that ball another step or two and then passes we shift then To'o goes over untouched.

There was a similar instance a little earlier where May fluffed it.

One of the worst offenders today was Liam Martin. Had multiple opportunities to draw and pass and passed way too early. His worst play was the final one where we had a 3 on 2 to the outside and he plowed back infield. What was that? With Nadan at centre and only 11 Storm players, he'd have streaked down the field!

Our execution was completely off and I honestly expected it to be. We didn't execute well at all against the Rabbitoh's and honestly we bombed a fair few opportunities tonight.

Cleary went missing for large chunks of the game and only really woke up in the last 15. Romey over played his hand a little too much. Cleary really lost control of the time tonight and we played catch up footy too early and dug ourselves a hole each time.

Kikau had a game to forget he was awful, made some brain dead decisions - but honestly he is a bit of a rock or diamonds player - it is not unusual for him to have a game where he makes multiple errors and misses a critical tackle or two.

And finally Ivan was too clever for his own good and coached us out of the game. How much better did our shapes on the right edge look when Nadan went on the field? May is simply too slow and lacking in lateral movement to be a threat in the centres - and that also hurt us greatly defensively with the Pap try.

May fills in for an injured 6 or 7, is a 14 or not on the team at all. We sadly missed the aggression in the middle with no Spencer - our best bench is May, Leota, Teta and Leniu.

You are dead right. Ivan can't make the hard calls because of his personal entanglements with his son and his son's best mates.

The Tyrone May before his ACL injury was a gun and could have played Centre, Fullback, 5/8 and halfback. He wasn't out and out quick but was explosive enough. Post injury and he has lost lateral movement and speed off the mark so in my mind he is either 6,7,14 or not in the side at all. Unfortunately for him the 6 & 7 are both better than him so he either fills in when they are injured or is only the 14. He isn't big or explosive enough for the edge or lock either. He is a talented all round footy player that is hampered by his body and not really good enough to hold a specialist position - at least not on our team.

I still think he'd make a very good 6 or 7 if he develops a kicking game BUT not on our team.

Kurt Gidley was a gun player in his prime mate. His draw in the opposition winger and flick pass was like a cheat code. Most teams just couldn't stop it despite knowing it was coming.

I've watched games where Spencer killed it. I've watched games where he was always getting the ball flat footed, not really running hard because of that and looking completely off the pace. A bigger ceiling than any of our middles but it would have been a risk to play him considering he hasn't really played in any really fast paced club games before now. He's still getting used to the pace of first grade, growing his engine and learning to pace himself.
