Not ideal but if there's a positive , hopefully he'll be back fit & raring to go around SOO time.
As for looking outside for a replacement , 1. it's only 1/2 a season & 2. this is exactly why Jon Green , Sam Taga , Rodney Coates are there , to provide back up in cases like this.
But unless they are going to go with 4 props (which I doubt) , these guys will still only be back up to Fifita , Ross & Taufua.

As for Kite or Rose , EX Manly players rarely succeed at Cronulla.

Should Bryce have been playing the trial? I was hoping our injury management would improve this yr.

Before the Trials , he was considered not much hope of starting the regular season , let alone the trials.
Which is why Flanno put out the story about Fifita stepping up to a starting prop.

I agree re: the injury management , with our improved depth , no-one this early in the season should be playing unless they're 100% , this includes Gallen , Carney , Lewis & Ryan.

Yeah, I reckon. Look at Manly's bench use over the last few years. They generally use 3 x 80 minute players each week. This is not common across the NRL. They do it so the props get shorter spells and more rotations.

The Toxic Gnome didn't succeed and he wasn't "real" Manly. He was one of those sea eagle/bear experiments.

Yeah , Noddy , Phil Bailey etc who Anderson brought in , were all Northern Eagles.
The only player I can think of , was Jim See in the '80s.

It's not much better the other way , Sharkies going to Manly - Jye Mullane , Longy.

Like Cliffy , Burns never played 1st grade for Cronulla.
& Ferris technically went to the NEs but stayed a season when Manly took over.
Ferris probably played his best with us after he switched to hooker when Presto went to H/B , I seem to remember him having a great game at hooker in the '01 semi final demolition of C'bury.

I have had a bit to do with Ferris of late...He absolutely loved his time at the sharks and rates Sludge as the nicest bloke you will ever meet. It's a shame Jason's life spiralled out of control in more ways then one, but he is on the mend and trying to beat his demons! good bloke and a great cricketer as well!
