Someone should let Bryce know that you can get the green grapes here at our local IGA shop at $2.39 a kilo right now.

we have a hundred million backrowers.

Gallen and Ross to start at prop with Fifita off the bench.

Backrow of Toops, Lewie and Graham with Bakuya off the bench.

Problem solvered.

Of course we can fill a team list, but none of those guys can fill the same role as Gibbs.

With Smith gone (huge blow) Gibbs is our best ruck defender. The bloke who covered on the inside and niggled his way to slow PTBs. Heighno gets turtled regularly and doesn't wrestle. Gal can't do it on his own. Gibbs is our most important forward.

So one of our biggest strengths of '12- ruck control- is no more.

Couple that with Ben Ross a year older, our yardage game looks weak. I have some hope that they've got Green back to the weight he was when he was at St George and he can do some of the cleanup. At least he's first grade hardened and can play more that 10 minutes at a go.

Whoever they pick they'll be up against a Titans pack of Bailey, Myles, Douglas, James, Taylor, Harrison, Bird, Minicheillo. The Souths a couple weeks later.

Its all well and good having fresh blokes for late in the year... but you have to win enough games to get in to the 8 in the first place.

Yep. This is a big blow. Did someone say Roy? Yes please.

i'd say the props will be Fifita and either Ross or Green starting, and he'll probably put a prop on the bench, could be Tagataese or Tafua

We were missing Gibbs at the start of last season. Played Gal at Prop and were on fire.

Only started losing when Gibbs came back and Gal shifted into the back-row.

I actually started to look at this a bit ago when people were posting their guesses at the first round team.

The experience is mostly in the pigs with 4 x 200+ game players, one on 191, one at 175 and a couple at around 150 games.

That is serious experience.

The backs don't even compare with Pom having the most games with 148.

Jo Mo is the old fart in the group with 263 games
Which is exactly why Lichaa should be there. No better time than now to blood a young hooker. A kid who has real potential to be the next NSW and Australia hooker.

Frenzy.

Interesting but that could be just as much about Gall shifting wider and getting in the way.

We had Smith then though. This year its Heighno. Handy player, but doesn't have the same strengths as Jeremy.

Gibbs is crucial to keeping the ruck tight.

I'd go:

Ross
De Gois
Fifita
Graham
Lewis
Gallen

Green
Heighno
Tupou
Morris

for Rd 1. With Bukuya and Lichaa breathing down their necks.

But I expect Taufua to start with Ross and Fifita on the bench.

I miss Smiths WWE hip tosses and the Randy Savage elbow when they are on the ground

there will be a massive hole in our D line with out him

no chance lewis is a better defender than smith

Before the 1st trial , Flanno said Fifita was stepping up to starting prop.
I think they'll go with Ross , Fifita & Taufua.

I agree totally with that statement Frenz.

Point is with Gal's reluctance to shift from the back row a forced "good for the team" move might just be what the doctor ordered.
