Good riddance to Gilles. Another useless Ando hack has been punted.

Time to throw out the board, I'm sick of these incompetent fools messing things up. The sooner Peter Gow is allowed back to replace this drunken rabble the better.

An alternate take on 2 items Gillies gone - Peachey Next year........

Peach should be retained but on a lower deal. Its okay to bank on developing new guys but someone needs to be around to teach them. ATM our 2 nominated candidates for FB are playing with (ie learning positioning, play reading etc) with one of the best. As a true clubman he has a lot to contribute in teaching these guys as a player, not a sideline coach. If he or they do decide to finish up, give him a runners role, so he can guide the young guys. But I believe he is still an integral part of the NRL squad and will be for a little longer yet.

All youth needs experienced guys around them to learn skills from and to control situations and if you look at the team we are a bit light on experience.

Am I right in saying that Gilles was the last part of Andos winning culture at the club :D I hope so.

Yeah it looks like it. Theo Burgess still remains although you could hardly call him one of Ando's men after the altercation the two had.

I can't say I knew enough about him to comment. It seems not many people liked him.

Is that why Simmo is starting to take his time on Kick returns?

Just a funny thought as I saw him stroll back to the defencive line last week like he was goin for a late evening stroll!! ala Peach!!

Yep. Noticed that. And he only makes a half-arsed attempt to beat the defence.

No disrespect to him, though. I think he's come on in leaps and bounds since the early stages of the year

At the start of the year, even some of my dumbest mates were bagging out Simmons.

I'm pleased to say that some of them have now, after watching him have some REALLY good games the last few months, have admitted how much he has improved and looks the goods.

I told 'em right from that start he'd come good though. Now they all owe me a drink.

Which is what a mate of mine told him in a chance meeting a few weeks back. He also told him to stop arm grabbing and tackle with his shoulder. Simmo mentioned that the coaching staff have been working hard on this part of his game. He's got great sporting ability and has to be fairly sharp between the ears as well. He'll be right eventually.
