Dunno that might be how McFadden thinks a half should play?

Completely unconvinced on Stacey as a coach too

SJ has speed to burn, hasn't got him far.
Mason is steady and creates direction.
In the ISP they run off him, SJ is a one man band, nobody knows what he'll do. Last year Bodene followed him and looked good... this year, Bodene looks shit because for reasons best known to SK, Shaun has been given a different role and a freeer rein..

I'd like to see him slow down if anything.

Has Mason's defence improved any? I saw that and his lack of top-end pace as being the things that crueled his first grade chances.

Yeah I saw that as his weaknesses last time I saw him last year. I was hoping thats been fixed up, if not then nah he's not ready. Ata will do though.

What I dont get, is that he has had two halves as coachs, Elmer McFudden and former World's Greatest Halfback Stacey Jones. How the heck has he not improved?

This is a great point (and I really enjoy the Elmer McFudd part).

Stacey has been at the club basically since SJ debuted, right? So really, that shuts down any head coaching aspirations he has straight away. Shaun is in his 7th season and we see no particular improvement to his all-round development as an NRL halve. McFudd couldn't get it right, throwing a 6 on his back, doing all sorts of shit.

When you have a $1m halve and he's not performing, you need to get in a specialist coach and quick. Johns, whoever it is...to get this guy playing proper NRL football.

I wonder if it's beyond coaching, more a top psychologist...
I don't know, but they paid him the big $$, that's not his fault - I wonder if it was partly to avoid him heading somewhere else becoming the player he should be and the spotlight being placed firmly on the incompetence at the Warriors.

When Fittler (quite correctly, and not harshly IMO) said Johnson needed to get his jumper dirty, Johnson's petulant responses said a lot to me... at the end of the day if you have big talent, demand to wear the #7, have a big public profile, get a big salary etc people will comment - Fittler has mana, could have said much more - yet Johnson seemed to take what looked like constructive criticism personally

I can't question his effort this year, but at the end of the day nothing's changed - and yes the players are accountable, but the management, the coaching, everything about the club screams they don't have a f**king clue

Good to see they are serious about keeping Ayshford - I know he's not a fan favourite, but he turns up each week and gets the job done, good solid professional, and great bargain signing

In reference to the above article, this is all good news I believe, Hingano & Lino will fight it out for Foran's position I presume and Ayshford is solid and dependable and deserves another year. I liked Thompson, but has let himself down badly this year and deserved dropping a few weeks ago.

Certainly there's mental shortcomings...but I don't think he knows how to be an NRL halfback. No one's shown him. Also as JJ said, his reaction to the Fittler stuff was woeful, at least what I saw of it (although the media took it completely the wrong way too and made a dog's breakfast of it).

Give Lino a proper go. Not just a couple of rounds at the seasons end. We need someone who can think and direct, he does both. We have a 1 million dollar fullback playing half back. Gah!!!!

Anyone know the extent of Forans injury?
Looks like one of these lads may be getting their chance sooner rather than later
