Pffft - regardless if a dude plays for Manly, he can still have an opinion on a player. I was sitting with the SG Ball kids at The Tigers trial @ Brooky this year, and you should have heard them calve Kane Cleal up !!! Rather amusing really.
The fact is, our forwards in my opinion are the worst in the NRL now. Example - look at Souths:-

08. Jason King versus Roy Asotasi
09. Michael Monaghan versus Stuart Webb
10. Brent Kite versus Peter Cusack
11. Anthony Watmough versus David Kidwell
12. Steve Menzies versus Joe Gulovou
13. Luke Williamson versus David Fa'alogo

Brent Kite is the only player you'd pick in that side !!!

I don't think Crusher has the network he used to, and believe that's why J Lyon has an out clause if he leaves. It's called INSURANCE on Crushers behalf.

I hope you guys don't take Tonga though. Rumor is strong, but in reality the Roosters BADLY need him, very low on depth in the genuine prop department (playing backrowers at prop is our downfall). We would happily take Glen Hall back too, just for depth.

Not when it come to genuine props though. We have great backrow depth, though unfortunately Flannery, Harrison & Anasta are exclusively locks, i would rather Morley or Crocker over them an day. But our only genuine props are Shilo, Beattie, Nutley. M Paea is a backrower, L Paea is a PL benchie, Shack is not ready for FG, Myles is a backrower, as is Plum.

Now if Tonga goes...we have NO established PL frontrowers. And half our JF pack left too...Rampling, Winterstein, Horo, Allwood. Danny Williams (no relation) might have a go, he tries his guts out, but he is very small, 92 kg i think, & Frank-Paul Nuuausala, though huge, is VERY raw still. We need Tonga, & an established prop for PL.

He is, but i think Effnic said something about the rumor. Ricky initially released him, but his ESL passport didn't go through, so i assume he's staying.

Wouldn't be a bad pick up tbh. I think Tonga would have a better chance at succeeding in First Grade then Hall. We'll wait and see, hopefully we can sign him.
