Just read that Ashley Mallet article.

I think he is on all the drugs. All of them.

"a confident young man without being overly brash like Pietersen, and that is evident in his strokeplay, especially during that audacious unconquered 51 "
"His powerful striking has made him a threat in all three formats"
"It was a batting show that would have delighted Pietersen. Unlike Pietersen, Maxwell is not mentally fragile"
"Maxwell is just the young man to provide Clarke with a real X-factor"

I can't decide which of those gems is the most geniused.

I blame all this on T20 cricket. 10 years ago a reckless batsman with poor technique would've rightly been laughed at, these days they're worshipped

I can't believe they're comparing him to Kevin Pietersen, if this hack scores 22 test centuries swim to New Zealand

I would say he isn't comparing him to Kevin Peiterson. He is saying that the Big Show is better than Kevin Peiterson.

The most accurate description of Glenn Maxwell I've been able to find is by Homer Simpson

Homer Simpson said:
Glenn Maxwell is the suckiest suck that ever sucked

*May not be actual quote

Maybe not, Richard Levi got found out pretty quickly to be a joke cricketer.

Then again Maxwell is about to bag a million for doing absolutely jack, that wouldn't have happened 10 years ago.

Ashley Mallett played under Ian Chappell in the 70's and thus is the greatest spinner to ever play the game.

Well that is until the show came along.

The Big Show Bandwagon has another member, more completely undeserved praise.
Don't know who Ashley Mallett is though or whether his word means anything.

Although Mallett is completely wrong here, he was a world class spinner in his team and our best off spinner since WW2.

But he's still 100% wrong about TBS.

Now we've got that well known dope Matt Hayden comparing big show to Ponting.

Hussey and Ponting not being there is obviously going to be a big factor. But Australia have some players who can do well at the highest level. Usman Khawaja is one guy who has the ability to bat for long periods of time and is very composed at the crease. Then there are some dark horses like Glenn Maxwell, who reminds me a lot of a young Ricky Ponting. Then Phil Hughes has been one of Australia's best players in recent times.

Let's hope he really does take after Ponting and his next step is to crack on to Carlotta at the Bourbon and Beefsteak..

He has some sort of potential with the bat in hand. But will struggle against a good pace attack with his poor footwork. His spin bowling is utter crap...

Today marks the start of a new era for cricket. This unbelievable young talent is about to put all the toys on show.

Australia to win by an innings and 400 runs with The Show scoring 300 and taking 15 wickets.
