goal kicking is going to cost the sharks games

I can't help but think Noddy is hanging on to the job so he can compete with Joey for the NSW and Kanga's halfback job. I can't think of any other reason unless he is kicking at least 80% at training.

i agree with Nostril i really dont think we have another real option, if we did why arent they kicking already and i think the brett kimmorley ego argument cant be true because if their truly was a better kicker we would definetley be using him

Kimmorley only missed that sitter because he had just scored under the sticks and was probably being a little cocky.

Merritt, Bird and Hilder all deserve shots, while Sully is known to be better than Kimmorley and there's no reason why he can't assume the duties when he's on the field. Plus, there was some rumour last year that Franze was supposed to be in training for the job.

Now all this 'we dont want to put pressure on a young bloke' is all bullshit. Hilder and Sullivan have cemented their places whilst Merritt will eventually be permanent and Bird's ego can handle the job. Even if they don't stay around for long, it's still a few games extra we might win because one of them were kicking.

Kimmorley tried to drill that one from in front.
It deadset would have gone into the jumping castles on the hill if it didn't hit the post!

I do remember him nailing a pretty decent kick from near the sideline and into the wind though. Anyone else recall that? Or was I dreaming?

I think he kicked 4 from 6 last night didn't he? 1 miss from in front and the other from bang on the right hand sideline. Not THAT bad really!

his percentage is awful richo

2 weeks in a row a miss from in front while other clubs have kickers kicking 19 straight

No, ONE OTHER club has a kicker kicking 19 straight!!!

Andrew Johns was only kicking 50% for the 2 games he played.
No one was getting up him for that were they?

i am not getting up kimmorley - i am stating a fact

and just because andrew johns was kicking crap as well does not change the fact

it is the coaches decision to change goal kickers

I agree with Millers.
Kimmorly's effort of 4/6 wasn't that bad last night, but he should not be missing the kicks from right in front of the sticks. Cocky or not, those kicks must be converted to points.
Occassional misses from the sideline I can live with, regularly missing from right in front is inexcusable

And pretty soon it WILL cost us a win

Yeah, but I'll put my head on the chopping block and say that Kimmorley will not miss from that position again this year.
Maybe from 40m out and right in front, but not a conversion near the posts like that.

4/6 is pretty standard in a game of footy.

If the one that hit the post scraped through, you guys would be saying how well he kicked. 3 inches made his kicking last night terrible? I think not.

Kimmorley IS getting better. He IS starting to kick the ball OK. Not as many dodgy strikes that go nowhere, and almost every kick is getting close, if not going over.

I'm prepared to stick with him, if only because I don't think Hilder, Bird, and Co will kick at any better than the current 67% that Noddy is at.

Well everyome knows my thoughts on this issue, but I have to say it is hard to defend someone missing a shot like that.

Having said that, I think by the look on his face he could already hear the cries for a new kicker from the fans. I don't think we'll see him miss one like that again

Last night was not the first time he has missed from in front this season.
I hope for the teams and the fans sake that he doesn't miss another shot like that all season.
