If Burgess stays he probably wins, if it's largely based on International form then I'm surprised Bromwich didn't get a lot closer.

Congrats to SJ, hopefully he uses it to build towards a better year in 2015. Hard to argue too much when it is based mainly on international performances for mine.

It's mostly based on Internationals so Burgess is out and so his Hayne. Sometimes Leaguies need to understand how the award is awarded. NRL has awards for the best NRL form. Internationals has their own period. SO next year I hope ppl get this through their heads lol

I can't believe how much complaining there is from Aussies about this award (not here - other places). Most (ignorant) people don't even take the time to understand the criteria for how it's judged. I think he was a deserving winner.

Wake up people. This award is not meant to signify the best NRL player of the year. That's what the Daly M's are for.

Exactly, but the media is there to sell papers, create clicks or comments. Most are pretty misinformed, so don't know if its marketing or general incompetents?
