Only thing that p*@ssed me off was that obscenely forward pass from Ryan to Lockyer setting up Smith's first try  #-o

Hmm, what about that try by parra that was blatantly a no try.. Dont know the players name, but he didnt ground the ball and then he hit the corner post.. So that sort of evens it up.

That was Ashley Graham.

Benefit of the doubt my ass.

Well as far as I am concerned it squared up for the BLATANTLY FORWARD pass that led to the Broncos prior try.

watched the game and did feel for you as it was a pretty even contest. Whislt you lost you can take something away from the game, whereas you couldnt do that a few weeks ago. I still reckjon you need to punt smith but a great improvement.

Better luck next week. Does anyone know how bad dykes is, I am a not a fan but he played okay tonight

Well said Shadow. I reackon the manner in which we lost proved that we have indeed turned the corner. I reackon if we'd gotten thrashed tonight, that would have been it for the season.

There are still a lot of things that need to be worked on - in particular 5th tackle options (even when Dykes was on, they were pretty crap), but at least the effort was there.

yeah hat was a blatant no try by graham but ill take it. there is no way in hell he grounded the ball and then he lost control of it. terrible decision. if the eels won the game there would have been trouble.

It evened up the blatant forward pass try Brisbane got.

Personally i thought 2 of Brisbanes tries came of the back of forward passes, one admittably a few plays before the try, but they still should never have been in posession.
Having said that Grahams was definately no try and we still didn't deserve to win the game.
I also have my concerns over Anderson, but don't want him punted from the club, just a little more time in Prems.
How bad is our run of injuries, we would have to be the unluckiest club during the past few seasons

Super effort from the boys tonight  In the end we just didn't have the class to match them - something that needs to be rectified after June 30. Lockyer was the difference. I froze my nuts off but it was worth it because we actually looked like a side capable of competing with the top 4 provided we get some injured stars back soon (Cayless, Cannings, Grothe etc.)

I am SO proud.

Yes we lost.

So what?

I think that mathc proves we have turned the corner when you consider:

* half our team is unavailable; that includes some of the game's brightest stars in Cayless, Cannings, Grothe, Vaealiki, Lyon and more

* we played the second half without a halfback

* a few decisions on both accounts were horribly, horribly stupid

My only disappointment (other than we lost) is that we let in that final try.

It would have better if it was 30-24, but a Top Four team beating the 11th placed team 34-24 is a mighty great effort IMHO.

Great game boys!!!

Don't forget Widders try also came on the back of a bullshit penalty that Civoniceva supposedly stripped the ball in the tackle. The poor refereeing decisions went both ways in that match.

Take Lockyear way from the Brisbane team and they have nothing, thats how good he is. If he is not in the team they would've lost by 30 yesterday.

Lockyear is off contract hmmmm.

We actually played quite well earlier in the season when Lockyer was out with a rib injury for about a month. There is no doubt though that he takes us from a competitive top 8 side to a genuine premiership contender.

Phillips - What did Vella do wrong tonight? Anderson over read the play a couple of times, happens to all young players, give the guy a break and give yourself an upper cut.

what did Vella do wrong  , what the f**k did he do right, he is and always will be a soft c**k that gets smashed by opposing players

.... as for Anderson he cost us the game, he was tackled into touch when he should have come infield or passed the bloody ball

Sorry mate but the more I read your posts the more I realise you know little about football. Vella had a good game, 12 hitups for 104 metres + 37 tackles on top of that.

I think the guys played well tonight, we're way ahead of where we were playing 2 weeks ago. The improvement has been phenomenal. I don't think any side could have stopped Darren Lockyer last night, pure class he was.

Anderson is young and learning. To say he shouldn't play first grade again is a ridiculous statement, I'm sure you could have said the same about Willie Tonga a year ago and look at him now.

AS has been said it was a good performance. Not only did Dykes get what might be a long term injury but Hopkins was knocked into Disneyland early.

A couple of major blunders Burt/McKinnon stuffing up the bomb, Anderson going into touch.

How much diffrent would that game have been if McKinnon had scored just on halftime, going into the break 18 all considering how the 1st half went would have been very good.

I can take that loss as the players never gave up and showed a lot of heart.

All things considered we did ok.

On paper the Broncos are more than 10 points better than us

Onward and upward from here

Interresting to see what a new halves combination will do for us.
