Good Sponsorship for Knights

Whats the value of the sponsorship in dollar terms though..that should be the most prominent part of this announcement and yet I have not seen how much the sponsorship is in real $ terms.

And it is probably inappropriate to be getting into bed with a company responsible for gross obesity in kids and others and the resulting health issues that clog our public hospitals.

I hope Maccas and the other unhealthy fast food chains go the same way as Winfield and are banned from sponsoring sport and teams!

Hungry Jacks sponsoring the teams Ben Cousins and Andrew Johns played for.

Ironic.

And the irony in that is? Yes they are both drug users...but what does that have to do with Hungry Jacks? They sell drugs too?

The word you are looking for is "coincidence". Do you even know what irony is?

ironic (ī rän′ik)

adjective
  1. meaning the contrary of what is expressed
  2. using, or given to the use of, irony
  3. having the quality of irony; directly opposite to what is or might be expected
  4. marked by coincidence or by a curious or striking juxtaposition of events: regarded by many as a loose usage

May be loose usage but its acceptable.

BTW they do sell coke and ice :sarcasm:.

It really isn't irony...if a pharmaceutical company sponsored both teams - sure...irony. But Hungry Jacks? It's a fair stretch...

In a case of unfortunate timing, the Knights had planned a noon press conference yesterday to announce a lucrative sponsorship with Coke but that was scrapped when Burraston and club management became aware Wicks had been arrested.

Burraston, who said he was confident the Coca-Cola deal would still go ahead and that the Knights would not lose any big sponsors in light of the Wicks revelations, still fronted the media at the club's administration building but to answer questions about the former St George Illawarra forward.

I feel sorry for the club and its supporters and for rugby league in general atm.
We need this like a hole in the head.

This tool and his friends (and all drug dealers in the world) ought to be sent to Bali for sentencing.
