If There is a Towel day for Douglas Adams, I think 21 Feb should be HST day...In memory of one of the greatest American writers.

3pm: rise; 3.05: Chivas Regal with morning papers, cigarette; 3.45: cocaine; 3.50: more Scotch, cigarettes; 4.05: coffee, cigarette; 4.15: cocaine; 4.16: orange juice, cigarette; 4.30: cocaine; 4.54: cocaine; 5.05: cocaine; 5.11: coffee, more cigarettes; 5.30: more ice on the Chivas; 5.45: cocaine; 6pm: marijuana; 7.05: tavern "lunch" of 2 beers, 2 margaritas, 2 cheeseburgers, fries, plate of tomatoes, coleslaw, taco salad, double onion rings, carrot cake, icecream, bean fritter, cigarettes, another beer, cocaine and a snow cone drenched in Chivas for the ride home; 9pm: cocaine; 10pm: drops acid; 11pm: Chartreuse, cocaine, pot; 11.30: cocaine; midnight: Hunter ready to write; 12.05 to 6am: Chartreuse, cocaine, grass, Chivas, coffee, beer, clove cigarettes, grapefruit, cigarettes, orange juice, gin; 6am: bath with chocolate bars, fettuccine Alfredo. 8am: sleeping pill.

I remember reading an article he wrote in the mid-70s in Rolling Stone, called Fear and loathing at the Super Bowl. He spent some time with the Oakland Raiders of the NFL. I wish I could read it again, my memory is that it was hilarious.
