Gotta feel sorry for kelly.

Kelly chased the dlrs and the world promised by Sticky ( still looking for the atlas), he is a good kid but needed time ( and a better coach).

His uncle ( who had been looking after him) wanted him preferably to stay at Parra and work his way up, or possibly go to Melbourne, but managers are what they are. You paid far too much in the end, hopefully you get some reward over the next couple of years and don't burn him.

paid too much...hmm...seems to be a theme for the sharks these days

now we are looking to pay top dollar for a top line front rower meanwhile norrie is a regular at the storm

He will get a go ...Barret must be on a PB for consecutive games in a row.
So injury won't be too far away.

Call me crazy but I would think a bloke who can play 5/8 or half could fill in quite adequately at fullback.

Plenty of others have done it....none have made it look so hard though.

Also looks like he's taken his knee guard off for the first time in 3 years. Will be interesting to see if he gets a contract with them for next year & to see how effective he is in their team next year.

I don't think paying 150k for the most exciting young half in the game is paying to much especially when you consider the dominant half we have is about to retire.

Playing him at fullback(the idea behind it I totally understand and actually like) may hurt him in the short term confidence wise but he will bounce back. He seems well liked within the club

I personally would rather Lewis get a go and let Kelly rip shreds of the under 20s in attack first. The defense in under 20s is so average Id liketo see real blantant carve ups before bringing him up to firsts

put him back at fullback this week against penrith.Jennings is the only one who chases high balls at penrith and he is not playing. He will enjoy the freedom against the slow panther chasing team

lets say hypothetically the team that signed this youngster on this huge money also complains about having no money for experienced players and then goes through a record run of losses?

still hold that opinion?

if so ...I bet they would soon start should Kelly be fullback.

Don't feel for him, he got a taste of first grade, is now back with his own age group, and will probably get another taste of first grade before too long.

It is good for him.

i would have upgraded barretts contract gregos -and signed him for another 5 years

seriously though i think we should have been hunting for an outside back

We were & we are. But like Poore, we can't make them say yes in coming to Cronulla & this was after we finished equal first.

I do. I'd rather swing and miss on a Kelly then try and pay 500k and not even get to talk to an Inglis or someone of that nature and end up with nothing.

We don't have any boom youngsters coming through so I'd rather take a chance with that 150k then give it to say a Luke McDougall(if that would even get him to us).

I like Kelly, but the idea of Kelly and Tim Smith in our halves is makes me want to shank myself.

I think we can carry one of Smith and Kelly in the front line. If we have one on each edge we will be in all sorts in defence.

I would rather invest in Kelly than Smith but that is another story. I am not the biggest Smith fan

we managed to attract the games 2nd best 5/8™

is this 2011's excuse developing?

we cant attract anyone

Well we did. & its been sad seeing him playing in this side. I guess when he signed &the team was supposed to consist of a bird gal toops back row with a Ross snowy dougy & degois front row & a backline of Seymour kearney pomm fergo et al, it all seemed a very strong side that could do quite well.
However, 2009 , as the mathematicians put it, was an absolute disaster that defied probability.
