I was at the game so i haven't seen any TV coverage. It looked high and just before that tackle i mentioned to my friend that i thought Satt's tackles were a little high all night, especially on Gowie. I should have had a bit of banter with Satts at the club about that but he was too busy gas bagging to one of my friends about John Edwards and I forgot all about it. #-o
How did Satts feel. He went from favourite son to villian in one night!
Everyone was booing and chanting for him to be sent off. I sat there praying for Gowie to get up! And now i find out he milked it! Damn he's good!
If what you are all saying about it hitting the shoulder first then I would think Satts won't have much to worry about being on report.
On the ref... there were poor decisions all over the park for both sides. I was filthy about one from memory when one of our players were held down for quite some time in front of our posts...we were screaming for the tackler to get off. Then i think it was Waterhouse that got penalised not long after down at the other for the same thing but in half the time. Another was the call forward with Roons, it clearly went backwards and our boys ended up with the ball against the scrum anyway. There was inconsistancy like that all night. I was even watching the fans with Sports Ears get up of their seats and rip the abuse into the ref and touchies.
I can definately sympathise with the Tiger fans on the crucial calls though. We had plenty of them in 2002. We would be so close to winning games and then something like that just kills it and you would be at hair pulling stage and saying 'what the hell do they have to do to win a game'. That's one thing our boys learnt to overcome the following year, it made them mentally stronger and they knew they couldnt blame the ref and they needed to be in the position where ref calls didn't mean a loss of 2 points. Just remember you have Satts and Elford who went through that phase and Satts is a great leader. ;-)
