Graeme Langlands Footy card

Messages

hi Premiers !

i have a 1970 Graeme Langlands Scanlens footy card in pretty much near mint condition. I was wondering if anyone knew the value of this card. I was thinking about putting it on ebay. I dont intend for this post to turn into an auction, I am just curious as to the value if anyone has an idea.

Thanx, hope my son gets better soon !

You must have a big desk.

I would not go on EBay I would go to a genuine card shop I recon that would be better value for $$$, best of luck mate.

It's not much help now but a card shop in Penrith just closed down might have relocated though, cannot think of many local ones though.

Maybe so, but you're essentially asking people here to help you make some money. As long as that's understood...

To answer your question, the value is in the eye of the beholder. You tell us what you think it is worth, and potential buyers will decide if it's worth that much.

You're selling MMC, the usual procedure is for the seller to quote a price.

I saw him arrive at Kogarah last Sunday afternoon. He looked okay although he wasn't walking too quickly. I don't know if anyone around me recognised him. It didn't appear so but it was great to see the legend come to the match.

A card shop would give you about 25% of value .. eBay is much better because there is no middle man except for minor fees..

I remember a lot of my lunch money went into buying these Scanlens footy cards. Use to love that they came with a powdery chewy in it. Mine weren't in very good nick though due to playing flicks to see who could land the cards closes to the wall, from what I remember it was closes to the wall took all the cards, so it was for keeps LOL. At least the Saints cards were still in good nick though they were never flicked.

I used to have full sets of cards throughout the 70's but they got turfed when I went o/s

I rember the 1974 series had Peter Peters as card No 1!

I used to love having 'rumbles' at school with all my doubles. Where you hold the big pile of cards in your hands and throw them all up in the air as dozens of screaming classmates bash the crap out of each other scrambling to pick up as many cards as possible.
Anyone remember some of the cool flicking games? Longest flick, closest to the wall, etc. Good times.

Yes as mentioned above, use to love playing that and marbles. Had so many cards until one day my mum threw them out when cleaning, was absolutely gutted.

I loved the footy card games at school and another game called flick footy with a piece of paper folded into a small triangle covered in stick tape

I have a Gordon Tallis "rookie card wearing the red V and a pair of torpedo pants
