For those flying in here is some train information:

NSW Train network: Cityrail

Best way into ANZ Stadium at Homebush/Olympic Park is the following:

Catch train from Central station direct to SydneyOlympic Station via the "Sprint Train" that run's every 10minutes

Catch train from airport (International Platform) to Lidcombe station then switch over to the "Sprint Train" on the far-side of the platform that also run's every 10minutes.

All NRL tickets include public transport costs (Except for accessing the Airport train stations as these have an entry fee)

One you get to ANZ via these trains catch the escalators up and it's about a 400m Walk to ANZ down the Parade in which you can cheer, dance and raise your voice.

There is a whole bunch of food stalls around and some good pubs to grab a drink around Olympic park before hand. Security at ANZ can be pricks also with musical instruments (I got my Whistles/ Vuvuzelas confiscated numerous times).

Hhhhmmmm.....free transport. Might be hard when I've selected ticket pick-up "venue/city office" or whatever. I wonder if showing email confirmation is acceptable.

Can they what. I went to the Warriors vs Manly Semi in 08 and a group of Warriors fans had got permission to bring their drums along. They'd gone through all the proper channels for it, but one wanker decided to have a whinge about it during the 1st half of the Toyota Cup game and security told them they couldn't use them for the rest of the game. Pricks. And of course we lost the U21 game in the dying seconds, then got thrashed in the semi... was a pretty crap day!

Dude, should've gone ezticket and printed them out at home/work- way better than f**king around with pickups. You can even email individual tickets out to your mates then so you don't have to meet up beforehand.

I'd be careful with that. Our transits can be assholes at times depends on the individual I guess. If your coming from the airport there's an access fee you have to pay regardless with an NRL ticket or not. Should have got eTickets sent!

You can try but I've been busted once trying that. Only reason I got off was lying say I had no ID it was at home and I'm in a rush; gave me a warning.

Yeah bro.

They used to be more lenient but in the past years. Well not to be prejudice but the Bulldogs supporters have been known to take drums and cause commotion and trouble with them (Excess noise and threat + creating a rowdy "violent" atmosphere) so they put an end to the drums unfortunate how one crowd ruins it for the res. Tried taking some in for Origin and got told no and had them confiscated. I got told this by the head security there who warned me about it and then gave my drums back after the game because I was nice about it.

Whistles because they can stuff the Ref's up in contact with the RefBox up in the stand (Don't ask me how this is what they told me). No idea how they would hear a whistle amongst the fans cheering. You can sneak one in though no problem lol. (I've had a few taken off me)

Vuvus because "They just can" and the noise they make annoys security (I just sneak in a pocket horn). I've had a few confiscated and lost most of my stash at Origin time.

ANZ have tightened up security big-time. Pretty sure banner's have to be registered down as well and go through the right channels for those to be in the game.

Thanks for the great info, but I do have one question. I've been to SYD heaps, and love the trains - but how does the GF ticket work for free transport - do I actually put my ticket in to the same place the regular ticket goes? Because that will seriously give me a heart attack.

Pretty sure you just walk through the side gate thing and show your ticket to the attendant as you pass.
