Grand Final Entertainment

The last time I remember build up for entertainment, when Tina Turner sung when the Broncos won the Grand Final in 92 or 93.

I must say I think some codes get unfairly criticized for the entertainment. The AFL was slammed for Meatloaf, but the AFL has no control over whether the performer will sing in tune.

I think it is a pretty good choice. I was very impressed when I saw him live a couple of years ago. There is never going to be an act where everyone thinks they are fantastic. Certainly not an act that the NRL can afford.

Reform the choirboys. Play run to paradise, boys will be boys, then run to paradise again. $500 all up

Thought it was a bust, TBH. Couldn't figure out what they were trying to do. Entertain the audience or promote some new album? Playing one set at the GF ain't gonna make many rush out to buy your new thing, if they're not diehard fans, who would probably buy it anyway. Just play the damn hits, FFS. Instead it was a set of mostly new crap... "Yeah, we're sophisticated artists, now" type stuff. I don't mind Chisel. They're ok. But it was a dull set.

lol wot?

They played their 3 biggest ever hits

Khe sahn, flame trees and bow River

Flame Trees? Bow River? Flame Trees... anything after Circus Animals doesn't really count (IMHO) and only did so-so, anyway. Bow River? Not a single, not a hit and is interesting, but not all that or anything. But that's cool. Thanks for the reminder. I only remembered Khe Sahn and a bunch of new crap.

Has anyone ever walked away from a GF saying "Can't remember much of the game, but gee, that half time entertainment was great!"????

Who cares? They could have the Wiggles and I wouldn't give a shit.

I don't remember much about the game but half time was great entertainment

Not sure what you guys are watching at half time.
NRL has their 'entertainment' before the game.

Too bad Loudstrat is no longer around.
I would have enjoyed 50 posts from him complaint about this decision, then complaining about Keith Urban himself and just modern music in general.

Then another 50 posts of shitty 70's/80's era metal bands that apparently should have gotten the gig instead.

We miss you Loudstrat!

I think we should go with Roy and HG's suggestion of The Seekers. The kiddies will go wild over Judith Durham and Athol Guy.

I thought
As far as sound quality at a GF, that cold chisel was excellent.
Usually the bands sound gets lost in the big echo chamber .

Cold chisel however were great
Except for one major thing

WTF was on Barnsies legs?
