So what, this is Barnsey's 19th time he has played at the GF? It's about time to find someone new.
And no, Robbie Williams isn't much better, another artist who time has passed.

Exactly if you really wanted to make a bang then you pick somebody that still has traction.

Credit where credit is due - The Killers were a fantastic choice for fumbleball whenever that happened. Internationally renowned, still writing decent music and popular across a big cross section of the population.

If you get something like that, fair enough big deal but neither Robbie Williams nor Jimmy Barnes (especially) fit that bill. Essentially we are arguing who is more underwhelming in this debate.

The AFL Grand Final parade has gone down like a lead balloon with both the Cats and Swans on barges on the Yarra River, the mascots and coaches in separate speed boats, looked ridiculous.
The cavalcade of cars that they used to do pre covid was far better.

Acts are still doing Covid catchup gigs. So not sure who was really available even Parkway Drive who were mentioned in this thread are in the UK next week

The same Robbie Williams that is doing a Melbourne only show?

With these things, It is simple think of someone. Then you google and 9/10 times they are touring somewhere else
He’s touring here next year, this is a great promotion for his up and coming tour. Maybe that’s the trick, find someone touring soon after and use it to entice them here for a one off to promote it.

That’s exactly what I said though if you really want to critically analyse. I said they are both washed up (i.e. they are nowhere near as popular as they used to be) yet one is more washed up than the other.

If you wish to refute that can you name anything either of them have done in the past say 10 years? The last thing that I know Robbie Williams has done that was remotely popular was that god awful duet he did with Nicole Kidman and that would have been what 15 years ago? More than that probably
Nicole Kidman kills careers. Remember Lenny Kravitz? I still can’t name a song her husband does.

Disappointing.

It’s like we’ve not moved on from the 90’s.

Does Jimmy need a ramp to get on stage or is he not that old?
