As for the second bit...Id take Tongue, Picker, and Harrison over Hindmarsh any day of the week, in all the years ive been watching league, im yet to see what is so special about him other than the fact that he is a workhorse, of which there are plenty in the game.

He is a work horse that makes try saving tackles and never gives up i aint a big fan of Hindmarsh :sarcasm: But he'll chase a winger the length of the field to stop him from getting the ball under the sticks he and Tongue are just the same except Tongue is a raiders player and you all have to f**ken whinge!

Prove what? It's all about accolades you 'moron'. Like most Raiders fan you want Tongue to be rewarded with rep selection no matter which side he qualifies for, and you're disappointed he hasn't. At least admit it.

* Even if he only considered a 'workhorse' he's the best at it and really, nobody wants a player who is able to make 196 tackles in 4 games of football :roll:

*Yeah because Alan Tongue is so much more than a workhorse :roll:

*His average 7 or so hitups a game really show how dynamic he is an an attacking player :roll:

Im not going to sit here all night and justify why I don't like Nathan Hindmarsh, I just think he gets more credit than he deserves, if you don't like that mate, then you dont have to read the post.

You're more than welcome to think that, and you're more than welcome to think that Alan Tongue and the rest of your bunch don't get as much credit as they deserve. Regardless of what you think of specific players this was supposed to be a thread about those who are the best role models, influences, ambassadors etc. Hindmarsh even if you don't respect him as a player, is one of the most respected and liked players in the from fans and players alike and that's why he fits the build.

Yet yourself and a couple of other Raiders fans decided to turn this thread into a bagging of him for being just a defensive workhorse and overrated on the field. That's why I objected initially because that's not what this thread is about.

Because nobody rates them apart from you guys. You're jealous because you want Tongue to be picked for Australia and NSW but he never does, so you bag every player that gets selected ahead of him and call them 'over-rated'.

This isn't a thread who the best players are anyway, it's all about being an ambassador. If you don't think Hindmarsh is one of the most popular and likeable PEOPLE who play in the NRL then you should be locked away in a nuthouse.

Oh yeah, and the rivalry between fans of Sydney clubs is a lot stronger than any dislike of Canberra. So fans from the Bulldogs, Manly etc don't sit around and conspire going 'Oh yeah let's vote for Hindmarsh so a Sydney club player will win'. It's the impartial NRL fans that get him votes.

robbie farah has an accounting degree and got 94 in his UAI. never gets into trouble, plays for his junior club and has openly said he wants to be a one man team.

Along with that they should be articulate, charismatic, look normal and stay out of trouble.

Sounds a lot like Craig Wing to me.

But whats weird for mine is this: at the moment the most likable and savvy player in the game is Wendell Sailor.

I like Wendall, and think he is most savvy. Also his past indiscretions show him to have the human fallabilities that most of us possess. However, it is hard to forgive him for consorting with the enemy :evil:
