Phil Mann. I used to think he was super human as a kid back in the days of Cumberland Oval.

As a little fella he looked 12 foot tall !

At that time, I only was as tall as his knees!!
He was such a crowd favourite.

Yeah, he was a berry, I didn't realise at the time, though, until he'd left for Wests.
He died some years back, if I remember?

Matt Goodwin was always great value for money, tough as all hell.

and Peter Johnson's big hits were always great to watch.

Graham Olling was always entertaining.

My favourite outside of Pricey and now Hindy was Geoff Bugden. I was a little fat kid who played in the front row when he was around and he was my hero. I also loved watching David Woods. In the days when we dined out on the crap players from other clubs, he was a star. I was told a couple of years ago that his biggest problem was that he would hardly train properly. As in wouldn't stretch and take care of his body, which subsequently fell apart... Limb by limb. Having Monty Python flashes in my head...

Terry Reynolds was great little half back. For some reason I have a memory of him playing with his face covered in blood. No blood bin in those days.

This is a thread where you get to name your favourite ever Eels player, but with one exception ... you can't go the obvious choices.

Forget the Sterlings, Kennys and Ellas - I want you to name the guy that you were a huge fan of but didn't receive the accolades you believe they deserved. Or perhaps it's someone with limited ability that achieved as much as they could ever have hoped for due to effort.

You see, when i'm hungover this is what I do - start useless but entertaining threads.

Anyway, mine is David Woods - a freakish talent that would have played for Australia had it not been for injuries and the fact that he was surrounded by 12 spastics each week.

That is all.

You're hungover at 3.30 pm on a Thursday? You're not in our fulltime squad by any chance are you?:sarcasm:
