This is the final round one grouping

American Beauty: A touching, poignant look at suburban life and the lives we end up leading with or without our consent - American Beauty featured an enchanting soundtrack, wonderfully dry humour, and some marvellous performances from Kevin Spacey and Annette Benning in particular.

Amelie: A cult favourite for its whimsical storyline and cinemotography, Amelie has surpassed its roots as a foreign language film to become a mainstream hit.

Annie Hall: Arguably Woody Allen's finest work, this love story was remarkably touching while maintaining the wit and self depreciation we've come to expect from Allen films.

The Deer Hunter: A now legendary war film about Vietnam, it may not be as well known as the likes of Platoon or Full Metal Jacket, but featured a magnificent cast and critical acclaim still hangs over it.

Stranger Than Fiction: Will Ferrell followed the likes of Jim Carrey and Adam Sandler in recent memory, turning his lovable comic stylings to a more serious role. A charming and intelligent film about life and love.

Iron Man: The most recent addition to the list, 2008's Iron Man sees Marvel finally able to realise its dreams now that they produce their own material. Wonderfully subtle in comparison to most comic adaptations, it was carried by a magnificent performance from Robert Downey Jr.

I've not seen Deer Hunter, so I went with American Beauty. I did enjoy Annie Hall, Stranger Than Fiction, and Iron Man - however.

Amelie just seemed like a lot of artsy wank to me.

Amelie is now one of those movies i refuse to see because of how overhyped and loved it is despite the fact that (wants to call it ****)...well i suppose i cant rubbish it because i havent scene it, but lets just say that i look at the posters of the French lead chick and wanna punch her! lol So i dont see any charm to her. Meh...

Haven't seen Stranger than Fiction or Annie Hall either so i cant comment on them. Of the other three i think i will have to go for American Beauty. Kevin Spacey is such a great great actor and he's unbelieveable as Lester. There's no other movie quite like it with its look at American suburban life...dark, funny, tense and unpredictable.

Iron Man would have to be along with batman begins easily the best comic book hero movie ive seen. Isn't it great when you get a superhero movie with a great storyline and great lead actor (Bale and now Downey Jnr).

Deer Hunter contains perhaps the most intense scene ive ever watched in a movie - the russian roulette scene. But i must admit that i found the movie on the whole to be alittle too slow.

Haven't seen the deer hunter. I'm going with Amelie, just ahead of Annie Hall.

Deer Hunter progresses, with American Beauty eventually managing to pull away from Iron Man and Amelie.
