That too, I mean how hard is it to get refs that can do their jobs? The game is incompetent.
The rules state "no club, club official or player shall, on a public occasion, comment on or with respect to the performance of a match official".
NRL head of football Brian Canavan said the league had applied logic in situations where comments had been made without the integrity or ability of referees being called into question.
What's the perret deal?On aSide note, our old nemisis Weidler is going right after Grant & Greenberg over the Perret deal. Grant & Greenburg are in a big twist over it.
NRL.com has the press conference as well, are they going to fine themselves? On aSide note, our old nemisis Weidler is going right after Grant & Greenberg over the Perret deal. Grant & Greenburg are in a big twist over it.
On Monday Greenberg told Flanagan and Manly coach Trent Barrett to “grow up” and stopping blaming the referees for losses in their respective elimination finals matches over the weekend, while the Sharks boss fired back, telling The Daily Telegraph “I had respect for him but I’ve lost it” in the ugly aftermath that overshadowed the four thrilling NRL finals matches.
A terse Greenberg told Flanagan and Barrett to “grow up” and stopping blaming referees for losses. The comment incensed both coaches, still stinging after watching their seasons end in week one of the finals.
Cronulla plan to hold a press conference on Tuesday where the refereeing drama will no doubt escalate.
Flanagan wasn’t impressed with Greenberg’s press conference comments.
“He didn’t address any specific incidents in the game,” Flanagan said.
“They put rules around it and (Brian Canavan) said I could talk about decisions, in my view whether they were right or wrong. Just nothing to do with the integrity, which I didn’t.
“Now, he (Greenberg) says grow up. No, you created the rules. Get it right, mate. I asked (Canavan) what I could and couldn’t say.”
