what a pathetic rag the DT and the rest of the News Ltd stable is........well, The Australian actually reports on 'news' at the least.

All this tabloid sh*t quote sources as 'friends'. this sort of referencing wouldnt pass in kindergarten, yet the majority of people take it as gospel. furthermore, most of this tabloid sh*t is all opinionated rather than fact-orientated.

these news agencies lost their dogmatic authority a long time ago.

The title of this original thread is Greg Bird cleared of nightclub assault.

You have to ask yourself why so many high profile individuals get ' cleared ' or found ' not guilty ' of high profile indiscretions or crimes.

Whether you like it or not the fact remains it largely is determined by the quality of the 'silk' who represents the accused. Those who can afford the best ' silk ' (barristers) have a greater chance of beating the rap and that is a fact. Those represented by legal aid on the same sort of charges and evidence invariably get what? Found ' guilty'.

It is naive to think a verdict of 'Not Guilty' equates to the accused did not commit the crime. OJ Simpson is a classic case in point.

Sadly, the best legal defenders are often simply too skilled in there craft for most victims/witnesses who are simply not able to deal with the experience.

Mr Bird has been acquitted of all charges and that is that. Time to move on. Hopefully, he will learn from his mistakes and become a better person from his experiences.
