can see why inglis would choose QLD over NSW

NSW have a habit of leaving out class blackfella's that deserve a run for some reason, its been known in the indigenous community for years. thats why mundine come out and urged young indigenous boys to choose Qld for origin representative

if inglis chose NSW, he'd have half the amount of origin games under his belt!
or woulda had one bad game and got dropped. thats how NSW works, don't blame this lad for making a smart decision, blame you poxy NSW selectors that f*ck it up EVERY year!

also lol at the article, i'm sure greg is sooo upset.
still NSW not being able to let go.....lol

but the best is when ever someone brings up inglis should be a NSW player, i always bring up that kenny nagas should have been a maroon! but i never get an answer.
kenny is my cousin and i was drinking with him the other night, and even he admits he should have been a Qlder.

f**king hypocritical merkins

He has a point though, blackfellas like Laurie Daley, Ricky Walford and Cliff Lyons never got a chance to play for NSW because the selectors are a bunch of cross burning, card carrying racists. The same way that an in-form blackfella who played on the wing for Souths named Graham Lyons was shunned in 1990....

Exactly. Even a dyed in the wool NSW boy like myself, as a 16 y/o playing league if I had the QRL coming to me telling me if I signed on the dotted line I'd be playing Origin and making big bucks, I would be VERY tempted to do so.

Really?!? I wouldn't represent NSW for all the money in the world. I guess that just about sums it up

He turned his back on the blues. Let him go play for QLD. We don't need people who sell their pride! I'd rather lose with a honest team than win with an illegal team (and yes, as a proud Bulldog supporter, I am aware of the pun there)!

1. You dont need to let him play for QLD, he wants to. You have no say in it.

2a. If you dont need people who sell their pride you wouldnt select Jamie "I don't want to play for NSW" Lyon.

2b. Inglis didnt sell his pride, he is playing for the state he is proud of.

3. NSW can lose with an honest team or lose with an illegal team, the point is you continue to lose.

4. There is no pun in anything you said.

Bollocks. I am a Qlder and I cant see how Inglis can be passionate about Qld. Most backpackers in Brisbane have lived here longer. Inglis chose Qld simply because they said to him you can play origin this year if you side with us....simple as that.

Thats your problem mate, not his.

I've never lived in Townsville, i visited the place for the first time last year for 4 days (my first ever home game) but im an extremely passionate Nth QLD Cowboys fan and have been for over 10 years now.

Your argument is geniused.

I'm sure he'll get over it. Besides he's been adoted by a city of 4mill, I'm pretty sure it's some consolation for being abandoned by some hick dot on the landscape~!

By your logic Burgess can play for NSW then. He said on the footy show that he supported NSW. Goodness only knows that we are short of 2nd rowers ;-)

2b. Inglis didnt sell his pride, he is playing for the state he is proud of.

bullsh*t. QLD were struggling for quality outside backs. They lobbied successfully to have the rules changed, offered him a start and he took it.

3. NSW can lose with an honest team or lose with an illegal team, the point is you continue to lose.

Against players from NSW. Hardly State of Origin is it?

Which ever way you look at it Inglis should not be playing for QLD, its state of ORIGIN, not state of choice. Inglis played his 1st football abive the age of 16 for HSH, which is NSW whichever way geniused QLDers want to look at it. People have mentioned Tahu, but Tahu played all his footy above age 16 in NSW.
I mean was it enough in 2006 that Nathan Fien wanted to play for NZ? No, he was made ineligible and NZ was punished.
For too long the NSWRL has been complacent, and let the QRL get away with whatever they wanted

The NSWRL are not complacent and are not whingers like the QRL. We blues fans dont care if the following played for QLD:
Adrian Lam
Craig Smith
Brad Thorn
Tonie Carroll
Nathan Fein

None are of QLD "origin" but we dont care. We play in the spirit of the game and just get on with it.
Unlike the bad winners from the north.

Peter Sterling is from Wagga. Why are people having a go at him? He was only born in Toowoomba and then moved as a kid. Hardly the same as Inglis who only went to Qld because the Storm had a feeder club there. If they'd had a feeder club on the Central Coast, as they have done since, he'd have gone there. And why is Timana Tahu being mentioned as well? He's a Newcastle junior who was born in Melbourne and also moved to NSW as a kid. State of Origin is not about where you are born. It's about where you played as a 16 year old or older. Inglis only played in Brisbane at that age because he signed a contract, not because he had any personal ties to Queensland whatsoever. His selection for Queensland is arguably still the single worst case of farce we've seen in Origin history. Only Craig Smith, a born and bred Kiwi, playing for Qld might be considered worse, but at least he played his first games of RL in Qld.

The bolded ones are special cases, this forum's BELOVED ARL allowed them to play in SL war because otherwise there would have been no Origin to speak of, as it was QLD was a ragtag bunch of reserve graders, has been and never wases.

As for the other three the completely qualify under the Origin rules that have existed for 30 years. Brad Thorn has never played NZ in Rugby League, and Carroll played for QLD for years before he played for NZ.

Nathan Fein is a born and bred QLDer, you couldn't get more QLD than him. He only played for NZ because of some made up Grandmother.

Why don't NSW fans mention Luke Ricketson and David Barnhill who played for Ireland or Jarryd Hayne who played for Fiji?

Or does that not suit your arguement?

or James McManus.

Not to mention, they get to pick from a Territory as well, making it really State (and Territory) of Origin.
