Greg The Bunny

Greg The Bunny has to be one of the funniest shows I have seen in quite a while. It's on Channel 7 at 11am on weekdays. I came across it by accident early in the week, and according to my tv guide, it's still on this coming week. I've been reading on the internet that Fox in america cancelled the show after 13 shows for some reason. I really don't know why.

My description isn't gonna do it any justice. It's kind of an odd mix of The Muppets, South Park, and real people. It looks like a kids show, but don't be fooled. These puppets swear, drink, fight, ect ... but it's not as full-on as South Park. The human stars of the show are Eugene Levy (the dad from the American Pie movies), Seth Green (Scott Evil - Austin Powers, and apparently he spent a while on Buffy), and Sarah Silverman (I know her name, but can't pick where she's from). The puppet stars are Greg the bunny (the relatively moral 'host' of the show), Warren the ape (the stuck up, professional actor who likes a drink and his medication!), Count Blah (a rip-off of the count from Sesame Street), and Tardy the turtle (my personal favourite - he is a slow-witted turtle who always ends his sentence with a squealy noise).

I suggest you set a video for it on Monday morning. Great show!

PS: I don't work for Channel 7, so I'm not self-promoting!

Well, apparently, you can all ignore my suggestion to watch / tape this show. In the TV Changes bit in the newspaper this morning, it says that Ch7 has taken Greg The Bunny off in favour of Home Improvement. Bugger.

I reckon some parents complained to Ch7 about the show's content and timeslot ... and I must admit justifiably so. Given that it's school holidays, and 11am is just a few hours before the kiddies' bedtime (only 8 1/2!!!).

Well, that sucks for me! I might start looking for the episodes to download from the net. I hope this computer can handle it!

That's what I assume too.

In fact, on Monday morning when I first saw it, I originally thought it was a kids show ... until one of the puppets swore, and some were fighting. Unfortunately, I only saw the last minute of two ... but it was enough to make me want to watch more of it!

half said:
have you thought about sending 7 a letter of complaint? perhaps that would make them reconsider

Yeah, I'll get to that in the morning. Right now, I'm browsing this forum and watching the Knights-Roosters game on Ch9.

I know I'm out of touch with all the kiddies shows nowadays, but I'd never heard of Boohbahs prior to half-an-hour ago. In fact, for what I've seen of kiddies show these days, I'm rather glad I'm not that age! I grew up in the days of Astroboy, Voltron, He-man, Inspector Gadget, ect. Ahh, those were the days ...!

They've got the quantity, but do they have the quality? ;-)

This topic has got me reminiscing ... I remember the days when they used to show Bugs Bunny cartoons at 5pm every weekday afternoon.

Maybe there's something wrong with me. I'm almost 23, and I'm discussing cartoons of days gone by, and wishing those days were here again ... if only for the tv shows! Maybe I'm just tired (it's almost 3:30am here)!

The Boohbah's are on tv over here guys. I am yet to actually see an episode but I believe it is on ABC sometime after 9am weekdays. I have been told they make fart noises. Sounds like quality viewing for children :?

Sounds like something I would be tempted to watch then!

It appears that Channel 7 will be showing Greg The Bunny this coming week at it's 11am timeslot. I assume they're putting it back on now that the kiddies have gone back to school (well, they will have by then). I really hope that it's not just a printing error. There's only another 8 episodes in existence, so lets hope Ch7 show 'em all!
