In my opinion, the true reason for having a so called ground announcer is to push the sponser's name down our throats, it's all just so ingenuine.

"The PIRTEK parramatta eel" - c'mon drop the advertising campaign - we are the fans, we are the life of the place -

I like the other guy that reads out the score etc, he sounds very professional.

I agree with you strider in essence. I am not bagging the fact that a company sees the Eels as a good investment to get their name out there - great - but they aren't doing it to be charitable, it is pure and simple a business investment - if it wasn't in their interests they wouldn't be doing it -

Just don't appreciate being told that my team is called the Pirtek Parramatta Eels - Call me old fashioned....and maybe a bit grumpy..

Can you imagine the talk on a Monday morning at work, "Hey did you see those Pirtek Parramatta Eels on the weekend, weren't they great?"
