This is a damn good lineup (for both test and one-dayers) - I'm not sure about the wicketkeeper though, nobody stands out.

Gibbs
Tendulkar
Lara
Laxman
Dravid
Kallis
Wicketkeeper (undecided)
Pollock
Vaas
Akhtar
Muralitharan

Tests: Bit hard to guess two years ahead but anyway...

Smith (c)
Vaughan
Laxman
Lara
Tendulkar
Kallis
Boucher
Pollock
Ntini
Bond
Murali

Dravid (12th man).

For the record my team would be the same apart from moving VVS to opener in place of Smith with Dravid coming into the 11.

ODI:

Gibbs
Tendulkar
Kallis
Lara (c)
Ganguly
Youhana
Sangakkara
Pollock
Bond
Ntini
Murali

Hopefully Fleming will be picked but i have a feeling the SAfricans (Gibbs) will be given preferance with it being over there. Unless there's a proper selection system...

The game is 6 months away, so their form may change over the next 6 months.

Hard to pick a team now.

Unlucky - Fleming, Vaughan, Gibbs, Tuffey, Inzamam, Youhana..

It is September 2005.

Which means Marto and Lehaman could have retired by then.

Michael Clarke could be a premanent player.

Difficult to pick the team this early.

I do agree with Twizzle - bit far out for accurate predicitons

I will however have a stab

Test:

1-M Vaughan (ENG)
2-H Gibbs (RSA)
3-B.Lara (WI)
4-S.Tendulkar (IND)
5-R.Dravid (IND)
6-VVS. Laxmann(IND)
7-K.Sangakarra (SL)+
8-S.Pollock (RSA)
9- C.Vaas (SL)
10-S. Aktar (PAK)
11-M.Muralitharan (SL)

I am very tempted to put Fleming in @ 6, but see Laxmann as a better batter.

ODI

1-S.Tendulkar(IND)
2-V.Sehwag(IND)
3-B.Lara(WI)
4-J.Kallis(RSA)
5-S. Chanderpaul (WI)
6- K.Sangakarra(SL)+
7-S.Pollock(RSA)
8-H.Streak(ZIM)*
9-C.Vaas(SL)
10-Shoaib Akhtar(PAK)
11-M.Muralitharan(SL)

As I say it is earlier.

i really don't think sangakara should play as a keeper. I don't think his keeping is good enough. I would have him as a batsmen and have boucher as keeper

Could we still pick A.Flower?

if he was available, he would have to be a certainty - keeping or just as a batsman

Yeah he would definatly be a certantity. Especially on current form

And he has kept wickets since like 99 or something.

He is NOT a wicket keeper anymore.

 ok ok, I don't know what his current status is, but when he was playing he was clearly one of the best batsmen in the world - hence I said he could play as either. The way I figure it, there is no oustanding gloveman in the world anyway - given Parore's retirement. Boucher is ordinary, but a good all around cricketer. Flower and Dravid are even less ordinary with the golves, but provide options...

an if you want to get all smarmy, check the spelling of DEFINITELY and CERTAINTY - lose the attitude tosser

What about McCullum he is in excellent form at the moment.

I like him a lot, but he hasn't played a test yet, and as far as the ODIs go I wouldn't say he has outplayed Boucher
