RENI Maitua is tipped to finally be recalled to the NRL this Friday for the Eels after several false alarms.
Maitua has impressed the Wentworthville powers-that-be in the NSW Cup in recent weeks, and coach Stephen Kearney is keen to get him back on deck for home clash against Brisbane.
Maitua was in line to be picked up for the NSW Residents' team, but was understood to be overlooked by selectors after Eels officials hinted the former Canterbury and Cronulla back-rower would be tied up with the Parramatta squad.
Speaking of the NSW Residents', Canterbury utility Josh Reynolds remains the only player who was involved in last year's win over Queensland. A swag of NRL fringe players, including Maitua's new Parramatta teammate
Daniel Mortimer, will line up in the Origin III curtain-raiser.
