It's a shame Humble and Maitua have been selected in that Residents side, otherwise they both should have been called up in my opinion.
Regardless, I'd like to see Mortimer get the call-up. From all reports he is killing it at Wentworthville, maybe it might have been what he needs to start playing well in first-grade?

Aside from that, I wouldn't make too many changes, except for switching Webb for O'Hanlon.

I don't think there's any rule stating the NSW residents players cannot play for their club side the previous weekend.

For me

1-Tom Humble
2-Luke Burt
3-Chris Walker (assuming Morgan unfit)
4-Jacob Loko
5-Jordan Atkins
6-Casey McGuire
7-Jeff Robson
8-Mitchell Allgood
9-Matt Keating
10-Fui Fui Moi Moi
11-Nathan Hindmarsh
12-Justin Horo
13-Ben Smith

14-Marmin Barba (why not? We're all for seeing how Loko goes, let's see how this kid goes because I reckon he's better)
15-Shane Shackleton
16-Taniela Lasalo
17-Pat O'Hanlon (he's ready IMO, get him in there)
18-Reni Maitua

Gee Casper you aren't kidding about blooding the young players. I think that side would get lapped and the experience may set some of them back.

Bruest is not NRL standard, again with Filiga, Who is Ryan? and you have Webb starting, which I would be worried about.

Ryan is the back/2nd rower we got from the tigers a few weeks ago.

Webb is experienced and needs game time, if he lasts 10 minutes and gets replaced then that is better than not playing him. He will help the blooding of our juniors and help with enforcement if any nasty shit happens on the field. He can play 3 bursts of 10 to 15 minutes if required, ideally 20 minutes, but it's obvious he needs match fitness to get up to that 15 to 20 minute barrier.

Bruest, ok, just an idea to see how he goes.

Broncos will have a stack of players out due to SOO and injury, somewhere around 10 players. This will be a very good opportunity game to test out some of our best juniors. If they have the right attitude and they get lapped it will just be a huge learning experience and will provide a reference point for the standards required and to excel to if they want to be a permanent NRL player.

Best we break the young ones in now for the rest of this year so that they are NRL tested and hardened for next year. Letting go of Atkins & Morgan (yes he is injured) is a good place to start.

If I was coach I would drop Casey and Robson as well (or at least one of them) and bring in Humble, Reni, POH, Filiga (if he played well yesterday for Wenty) and Sio, though he might be a still a few weeks away.

f**k it! I'm with ya's...time to get all funky with our team this week and blood some new blokes.

1 Humble - has been playing 6 but I think he can make the transition ok.
2 Walker - deserves his shot.
3 Horo - can make a real fist of it if he can stay positive for the full 80, defence is a worry though.

10 Moimoi
11 Hindy
12 Smith
13 Maitua

I think burt MUST play one - he actually offers something there and has been awful on the wing.

I'd go with:

1 Burt
2 Walker
3. Maitua
4. Loko
5. Atkins
6 Humble
7 McGuire
8 Allgood
9 Keating
10 Moi Moi
11 Hindmarsh
12 Lassalo
13 Smith

14. Shackleton
15 Webb
16 Horo
17 Robson

Horo or Smith could play centre instead of Reni, or possibly alternate with him.

But Morts at least is our future backup, for next year anyway.

I'd like to see more youngsters get some game time between now and the end of the season.
Call me a crazy optimist, but I'd like to see 2 more losses before we start totally thinking about next year.

Yeah you're right.

I've always been too quick to write them off. I remember mid-2009 telling my wife I was over them.

Actually she remembers. And never stops reminding me.
