Of that I am aware. I was just highlighting the fact that they pretty much have a no tolerance policy.

Paul Wade was on Channel Nine this monring saying that it was pretty much definite that he would miss the next game.

We are not expected to win that game so it wouldn't be a huge issue. Just get him on the mobile while he watches the game on TV for his tactics :D

Could be if we get yellow cards against the blokes who have them. ;-)

It's just passion, it's not like he punched anyone. We don't even know if the official was being a pain in the @r$e.

I think more coaches should show passion like that rather than being the robots we usually see. To see him pumping his fists after the second goal was awesome.

Thats not passion....thats ill discipline....and from a coach, any coach... thats pretty piss poor imo.

He wasnt celebrating anything good we did by shoving that bloke in the chest.

Air puching yes...shoving an opposition team member...nup.

That's cool that's your opinion. I thought it was hardly an issue (I am surpised the person he shoved didn't dive to the ground holding his face...LOL)

The fact is that in tight situations like that you get fired up and the passion starts to show. I understand that you can't turn a blind eye to these things, but to stop him from attending the next game is over the top I think.

This is probably only the 3rd or 4th soccer match Ive ever watched.

I been watching RL for over 30 years and the worst ive seen is Nathan Brown, the odd bucket kicked or a water bottle or pen thrown.

Maybe this is the norm in soccer?

I dunno.

You dont think its an issue but if he did that in the street he could be charged with assault.

Would explain the fan violence i guess if it is.

A shove like that would not get you charged with assault. The cops would laugh at you for that one.

Hiddink apologises for scuffle - AAP

Socceroos coach Guus Hiddink has made a reluctant and limited apology to a FIFA official he got physical with as tensions got as high as the temperature in Australia's World Cup opener.

Hiddink pushed the official off-balance on the sideline as the Aussie coach was blocked from watching a television replay of Japan's disputed goal on one of FIFA's pitchside monitors.

"I will slightly, but not totally, apologise for that," Hiddink said after the game, played in searing heat with the pitchside temperature reaching an estimated 38 degrees.

"Everyone in the stand can see the replay - the only one who is not allowed to see the replay is me."

"They're shielding off the screen. That's ridiculous. That's why I was having a scrum with the two guys next to me. But at the end it was settled."

That it was.

The goal didn't matter in the scheme of things as the Socceroos conjured three goals in the final six minutes to ensure justice was done and they had posted a 3-1 win in their Group F opening match.

Japan's Shunsuke Nakamura had scored his side's goal after a dreadful refereeing blunder - with Australian goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer clearly impeded by two Japanese players when trying to claim Nakamura's ball from the right.

First Atsushi Yanasigawa, then Naohiro Takahara clattered into Schwarzer - the second leaving him prone on the ground - as the ball dropped into an open goal.

But Egyptian referee Essam Abd El Fatah allowed the goal to stand, leaving furious Socceroos remonstrating over a decision which television replays showed was clearly wrong and could have been remarkably costly.

Hiddink also had no doubts, though he did feel Schwarzer should have done more to protect himself from the Japanese onslaught.

"It's clear that there were two side attacks on the goalie, although I think he (Schwarzer) can defend himself even more. But it was a clear foul in my opinion," Hiddink said.

No mention of suspension or a ban there, although I think they're talking about a different incident.

In the US it would (remember the aussie woman who was charged for putting her hand on the shoulder of someone using a mobile phone in a theatre over there), but certainly not here.

you have to be kidding me dude.

its not rugby league and guus isnt nathan brown.

you dont see guus b*tch slapping one of the aussies in the face.

he had a right to be pissed. they scored a goal where it should have been a free kick for obstructing the keeper. the play before, viduka got the same free kick called against him and less than a minute later, the goal was scored.
they eventually got the fourth official to go over to him and settle him down.

the guy he pushed was one of the japs assistants, he was trying to run on the field before the ref allowed him to, to assist one of the japs faking an injury to waste time. the ref saw all of this, thats why he made them sub the player off and conitnue playing. if guus didnt hold him back, he would have run on the field and wasted time, so im glad hiddink did that.

also, guus didnt get told to walk or leave or anything. he stayed for the whole match and got the job done (and did it very well).

and for the record, the ref after the game apoligised for the call and admitted it should have been a free kick.

but once again, this isnt rugby league, there are no video refs to go back and call it again, once its been called, its final. i would have been throwing chairs at the ref if it was me.

guus is a champion.

if it wasnt for hiddink, australia wouldnt be in this position right now, he deserves all the respect in the world from us and even more. the guy is a legend in my books.

anyone who thinks otherwise can go back to sucking frank farinas d*ck...

From memory it was the guy on the right that Guus pushed in the chest, is that FIFA gear he is wearing or is it Japan?

Yes, you are. Australia secures a magnificent victory in the last 10 minutes, and you're bitching about how Sir Guus acted when the ref made a blatant error. Get a life.

the diving epidemic seems to be in fashion in the NRL, so many people on here especially can't talk

i'm just glad that football doesn't allow the decision to be reversed after a couple of minutes of play-acting

The ref was a disgrace- how about looking at his performance! The amount of oscars the japs took and were successful was a disgrace! I thought I was watching diving!

That's what soccer is all about.
