I know this will not answer your question...

I remember playing against NUTs (Newcastle Uni Thunder) years ago. F'n crap drive just for a game. I think there was a different club up there at some stage as well. Every so often there's rumblings about a side being put together again up that way but it just doesn't seem to eventuate. Last time I heard this I swear there was numbers building at the Uni again. They were training & stuff. Not sure when I heard that though...

Did find this http://newcastle.gumtree.com.au/c-C...yers-and-Volunteers-WANTED-W0QQAdIdZ283467970 might be worth a call if your interested. Otherwise I can hook you up with a good Sydney club!

The other team was the Cobras. 2 of my Dad's mates played Defensive Tackle for them (both twins, both 180kg plus)

I tried to get a gig when they were the N.U.T. but did an ACL so missed playing in state league. We had a local comp (ie 2 teams that played fortnightly) but I missed that also due to injury.

Far too old to give it a go now. Couldnt cop the hits any more. Basketball is about all my banged up knee is good for.

Just make your own team lol.

A few years back a bunch of us from school (9 guys) called our local team and we came on board as there junior team. We had to make our own name everything, was pretty funny as our experience was purely based on madden video games.

The club was west Sydney warriors although the majority of us wanted west Sydney Rambos haha.

Have they brought in flag football here? I've played a few games and loved it.

Can you let me know in here if anything comes of it? Be interested to see how things go if there's some serious guys trying to kickstart it is all.

Just had a look at that FB page & see Truck & nospam46 are going to give up some time. If you can't drag people along to get some tips from these guys then you will know you don't have a lot of commitment. Truck especially I'll give a wrap to. He was my line coach, & while he shit me to tears with a whistle in his hand, (mercy is non-existent when he trains), there was no denying you learnt heaps, you learnt fast & you learnt what was important. Plus off the field he is a hell of a nice guy!
