After they merged the Brisbane Lions were given a 15% salary cap concession.

That concession ended in time for the 2004 season because giving away 3 flags just looked too obvious.

Awful lot of dopey fans putting their hands in their pockets for memberships each year. You know what memberships are dont you? I've seen the hugely successful campaign being run out of Gallop's garage. But then again, theres so much more to do in Sydney in Winter than Melbourne and thus us Sydney siders don't attend club games.

There'd be also an awful lot of dopey sponsors as well and as for the negotiated media rights, what were the network honchos thinking? Dopey f$&kers the lot of them eh?

Irrespective of whether you think the draw is rigged or not and irrespective of your opinion of Demetriou, the AFL is head and shoulders above every other sporting code in this country in terms of the way the sport is administered. And every negative sentiment I read on this board (the AFL board) confirms the envy that is at large. You don't see these sentiments on the League board at Big Poofy. I wonder why...

Here's a hint, go into the RL section of little foody and go back to say, 2005 and before to see what it was like. Then, put in a search for Rugby or Thugby for the whole site and see what comes up.

And as for the afl being the biggest badest bah blah blah well run code out here, well it's pretty easy when you only have to look after the one part huh?

I mean, it's not like you have to deal with other countries ever to get games in the schedule or anything.

Fair enough. I'm actually not here to troll. I like both codes but I don't understand why people who clearly despise the AFL (or league on the BF site for that matter) would waste their time posting on a board that holds no interest to them? Not sure how that makes me the derp? ;-)

Irrelevant. Storm won their 2nd year premiership fairly (unlike their others) by quality recruitment and coaching. Swans and Lions won theirs on the back of massive legups from the AFL.

Storm won cause they inherited a Hunter Mariners team (I think they took about 50% of the squad), which had a great nucleus of players (Kimmorley and Scott Hill as halves!). Add one solid prop (Glen Lazurus) and it's not surprising they won.

Anyway, come on Swans, took them giving away 90.5.
