Brooks is our first choice halfback for next year. If he wasn't the club wouldn't have let Miller go on the first place. Tigers won't be signing Wallace.

Brooks is a long way from a proven 1st grader. In the games I have seen his defence is woeful.

I understand where you're coming from, but the club doesn't appear to share your view. Given that they are letting Miller, Marshall and Anasta all leave, they seem to have a lot of faith in Brooks.

If he is not good enough for the Broncos, we don't want him. I think Mayer has already confirmed we are not interested.

The Australian today mentioned the Broncos were keen on Brooks and Moses. I guess most other clubs are too. But why would we buy Wallace to free up salary cap space so the Broncos could make a bid for our juniors?

Extract from an article about Mayer. Bit tough having 2 fresh kids in the halves, but if so patience will be needed possibly.

Our fans need to be patient.

"I'm sure our coaching department would love to see top eight, but when you've got young men running around against bigger, older bodies, sometimes it's a challenge.

"I'm trying to be as realistic as possible about that.
"I think we start to turn things around well and truly in 2015 and beyond. A grand final is not beyond us in 2016."

Forming the basis of that belief is the batch of youngsters coming through which is the envy of the league.

The likes of James Tedesco and Curtis Sironen have already graduated to the top grade, while others such as Luke Brooks and Mitchell Moses aren't considered too far behind.
The presence of the latter two has softened the blow of Marshall's departure, with Brooks and Moses considered the Tigers' halves pairing for the next decade.

I cant believe all the talk about Brooks and Moses, yes I think are both great players, but they have not yet been resigned beyond the end of 2014 and the vultures are circling them. We all expected Santi would sign, but that did not happen. Iam sure Mayer is trying everything to get the lads to sign, but till it happens I would not be getting carried away

I'm glad they are doing this but it is a big step up to first grade and I hope they have it in them. Miller to me never looked likely and I am glad they made the call to move him on however he may come back and be a gun player. Brooks and Moses might look good now but Tedesco looked great as well and hasn't really kicked on this year. It is tough to know who will turn into a great player and who will just plod along.

I also don't like predictions of top 8 then top 4 then grand final. Its always tough to see how thing are going to turn out. If you have an injury to a key player your plans go to hell.

In saying all of that Mayer has done a great job so far and Potter has impressed me a lot. They are struggling with a roster that Sheens and the previous management put together as well as injuries hitting us pretty hard.

Brooks will either be a sensation or a massive failure. I don't believe the team could put up with another non-tackler long term (eg: Marshall)

Brooks is very close to a sure thing, Moses on the other hand has that rare touch of class, but will his body build up and will he loose that magic as his body fills out and he slows down a touch. They remind me a lot of a young Stirlo and Kenny combo, one has a good football brain and a brilliant kicking game and the other has speed and a great step.Their is a word floating around a deal has been done and both have agreed ed to extensions and their will be announcement from the club mid week

Hope you are right, what I've seen of Brooks is he tackles like a 10 year old, arms but no shoulder.

I think this is more support/membership drive PR for the present & upcoming season, rather than predictions for the future...worry about today today....

I agree on Brooks & Moses....we seem to be putting a lot of eggs into their baskets

We won a comp with two halves who couldn't tackle, for me, Brooks defense does not concern me. You can learn to tackle with time, coaching and experience, it's harder to find natural talent and a creative halfback with a football brain.

We couldn't teach Benji.
