My God if people didn't think you were an idiot before...

A NSW jersey is somehow worth more than an Australian jersey

Reni Maitua - one game for Australia, zero Origin.

Luke Burt - one game for Australia, zero Origin.

Matt Ryan - one game for Australia, zero Origin.

The reason an Aussie jersey is worth less is because their opposition are so weak that the Aussie team can carry a weak member. That means they are sometimes given out for sympathy or to reward a brief flash of good form.

Origin jerseys are given out to players who are expected to be able to compete against another Origin team. That's much tougher opposition.

I know I'd love to sign any of the current Kiwi or English internationals in the NRL. And if you remember QLD very much wanted Jack Reed.

If Hock comes here then he'll be the best backrower at the club. The fact that you don't even know who he is means you aren't even qualified to comment on the matter.

I've seen his highlights on YouTube. Besides an eye gouge there's a couple of clips of him running wide on the left in a Wigan thrashing of some useless Pommie team.

I am underwhelmed, to say the least. Hope he can punch on because he doesn't seem to have enough size or power to be an improvement on what we've got.

Smith might move to the middle, instantly frees up a spot on the edge. Horo could get released, opens up another spot, still allowing ryan and paulo time in first grade.

We lost 3 outside back spots from the top squad in Atkins, Burt and Savage. And of course there are rumours of Esi being let go. With Burt gone in particular there is a spot for Izzy still giving morgan, blair and sio spots.

If Hock and Izzy are better than those players and we are not over the cap then we are in a better position

Fair enough.

Of all the things you could have called him out on being an idiot for...

A SOO jersey is generally a greater reflection on a players ability than an international cap. Lets take your example of Jack Reed. Despite being the ballpark 8th, 10th or even 12th best centre in the nrl he has an English cap. To class Jack Reed in the top echelon of centres right now is laughable. Chris Heighnington equally so.

He was obviously in demand from his current club.

Unlike Gareth Hock.

Uncertainty over the coach's position.

:?

The difference is Peter Nolan and emjaycee both seem like good blokes. Your source is a player agent, and they're all f**kwits. The fact you spoke to one means you're a f**kwit too.

Sometimes, just sometimes Poupou, you just need to calm down. And stfu.
For someone in your position (ie. profession), I would have thought you'd have more sense, but then, maybe it's true. Maybe just just like the limelight. I always gave you the BOTD. But look where that got Harrigan.

Did he tell you you're a f**kwit and to act like a child on the forums.

I just don't get a post like this. :? The irony is crushing.

It's called humour mate. You might have noticed a couple of posts down I claimed a player agent spoke to me.

You need to lighten up.

TBH EJC, no one has any evidence at all, but reading between the lines, it was clear we were a basket case going nowhere. Who would have wanted to move here?
Now there has been a change of direction, and when you see the calibre of players we have on board, I reckon we'll be paying unders to get better signings, like Melbourne are now. We just have to start winning. That will be the turning point.
Can Ricky get us doing that?
Who knows? I'm in though. Like I would have been anyway.

Suity

Dont mind me Suity, I am a cantankerous old prick today... I just don't agree that SK can be lumped with everything that has been dumped on him by posters on this forum looking for an easy out.

If you go through the list of "signings" we have made for next year (and someone posted somewhere earlier that we were looking like we had a much improved squad for 2013), the only one that wasn't brought in by Kearney was Hock and he hasnt signed yet. The club mentioned that we were talking to Izzy about 18 months ago (that would have been Kearney and Nolan) so the team that SK was planning for 2013 was something like:

1. Hayne
2. Sio
3. Izzy
4. Tonga
5. Blair
6. Kelly
7. Sandow

8. Mannah
9. Keating
10. Fui
11. Smith
12. <Insert merkin here>
13. Reni

14. Mullaney
15. Lussick
16. Allgood
17. Harrison
18. Paulo
19. Horo

The only difference is we MAY have Hock to fill 11 or 12.
The ones in BOLD are the ones SK and Nolan signed so 9 or 10 of 20 spots are players who wanted to play for Kearney despite us being a basket case (which I dont disagree we were).

And yes, I love the changes in direction we look to be taking and yes, I'm in and would have been anyway.

I have heard things from a player agent. They are called conversations, not press conferences. You can believe me if you want, i don't care. You talked with Peter Nolan, we didn't expect a link. I'm sure Nolan's job has been made easier now Ricky is here

What player ever wants to come to a club that is going backwards under a coach whose results keep getting worse. Players were openly not happy with Kearney (Shacks Twitter as en example, unfortuately i can't link it for you )players talk and word spreads very quickly in league circles as im sure you would know

Thanks for the response Noise. Maybe would have been easier to actually state that you heard from a player agent in your original post - I think I did when I posted about my conversation with Nolan and it gives more credence to your post and no one then looks for a link or any other support.

Regardless, can you find out for me why Lussick, Kelly, Mullaney and Harrison signed and why Izzy has been talking to Parra for 18 months about coming here after he finished his sojourn in AFL? Oh and maybe you can also find out why Sandow and Tonga came here 12 months ago as well.

In no particular order, I would suggest the decisions of T Williams, Hinchcliffe and Lewis were down to a combination of:
- $$
- mates
- location
- Preferred Coach (in the case of Williams and Hinchcliffe)
- Debacle that was Parramatta at the time

That's just my opinion and I have no source to support it.

It's past history dude.... :BDH:.

Don't keep letting SK get you down, and dampen the positive spirit about our club's future days.

lol, bullseye.

Sorry Bart, I don't understand your contribution to this thread with this post?

And if you are insinuating that Noise's reply to me was somehow hitting some type of target I am confused even further. I think I asked for a link to where there was some source to support his assertions regarding Williams and Lewis not coming here because of Kearney. So claiming there wasnt a presser to refer to isnt really a response to my question.

Don't let the lack of understanding dampen your spirit of positivity about the club's future though. That's the main thing all of us have to keep striving for, in this unforgiving post-Kearney world....

Just to this thread in particular?? I've yet to understand much of Bart's contribution to the forum since he came home from overseas...... :?
Glad to see the lack of understanding hasn't dampened your spirit of positivity about the club's future either Big C. I'm sure you know where the forum ignore feature is ;-), otherwise let me know if any of my posts breach any of the member guidelines.

The positivity he used to show on here prior to him disclosing his chat with Nolan and Kearney's subsequent resignation seem to have gone missing, imo. EJC himself explained he was posting as a cantankerous old prick today, I happen to agree.

Yep. Know nothing.

First off surely you know the PMs XIII isn't a test jersey. If you want to count that as playing for Australia you can count the Residents side as playing for NSW.

And Australia's opposition are so weak that Australia has lost more series in the last seven years than Queensland has.

As for jerseys just being given out...Jamie Buhrer.

Of all the things you could have called him out on being an idiot for...

No it isn't for Christ's sake! There's 34 spots in Origin, 17 in Australia, how is playing Origin a greater reflection of ability then being picked for the best squad in the country? Would you like me to list a bunch of nuffies who have played Origin?

FYI a ton of English and Kiwi forwards would waltz into Origin. To class any number of former internationals in the top echelon of their position RIGHT NOW would also be laughable, when they were selected though, not so much.

Now which backrower would you rather sign? Gareth Hock or Jamie Buhrer?

Meh. I enjoy a good laugh...... watching you duck, dodge and weave on a daily basis is quite fun actually. As for the member guidelines.... no need for paranoia.

Thanks for being so concerned about my spirit towards the club and the upcoming year. actually my levels of enthusiasm haven't changed much in the last 33 years that i have be following Parra. i will still have my season tickets by cob Thursday the latest.

My cantankerous nature is related to non-football issues if the truth be known. although it does get exasperated by alot of the posters here, especially the ones that don't see any value in long term rewards for effort and would rather blame others all the time.
