I just had it brought to my attention that on this day the 15th October 1940 the Great Shark Tommy Bishop was born. Today he celebrates his 80th Birthday.
Have a good one Champion. Still my No1 Shark of all time.
Not many of these fine gladiators are still with us. I think Ron, Tommy, Eric and John are the only ones from this photo that are running on the right side of the grass. (we are all getting old now)
Great memories.
Geez thought Mal Reilly would have reduced his life span. One of the best player investments the Sharks have made since they cam into the Big League.
He, Cliff W ,and Steve Rogers gave the club the profile that is needed to make an impact in the big time. and kept the turnstiles clicking.
Happy birthday Tommy, you cheeky little b*gger of a player
Met and had a beer with him at a grand final luncheon at the club a number of years ago now. Absolute gentleman and legend.
That and chatting to Gav Miller post GF win outside the station at Homebush we’re two of the greater sharks moments in my life.
