My question remains, has Benji won more finals matches for the Tigpies at pivot than Lockyer has at pivot despite playing for the all international Broncos?

Not yet.

Lockyer: 8
Marshall: 6

Benji never had to deal with Origin hangovers either.

8/14* You might be including the Storm game where he played halfback (a fresh out of retirement TC was pivot).

In theory it should but obviously it isn't that simple and I believe there is a link between success & a lack of Origin commitments. All-star teams certainly have that drawback.

Do you believe in a measure that would tell you that Walters is a better five eigth than Daley?

I'd still include the game where he is listed as halfback as opposed to pivot, as I would Benji playing halfback this year should Tigpies make the finals.

I wasn't using it as a measure per se, it literally just popped into my head as a question. But even then, I did acknowledge the Bronco's superior rosters around their play maker.

Debatable.

I don't think Lockyer (at pivot) ever had a chance to play in a well rounded spine like Marshall did in 2005.

Heck I think he would have loved the opportunity when he had TC, McGuire & Perry partnering him in the halves. I also think he would have preferred Farah's service from dummy half over Costigan, Ikin & B. Berrigan.

Don't sound so bitter. The Bronco's have a proud history.
Pot... this is kettle!

I'm not the one consistently trying to bag one of the greatest players in RL history with pathetic arguments and reasoning.

What I do wonder, is why the bitterness? I mean, if it wasn't shagging your favourite sheep, what did he do to deserve all this contempt?

Morris, Moltzen and Lui v Wallace? Really?

Shaun Berrigan was a good nut. Three years of Ennis, who was to keep Farah out of Origin. McCullough is not a lemon....

Shane Perry was good enough to keep Brett Seymour out.

Kharmichael could play...

In my opinion - you'll do yourself a disservice to compare squads. Brisbane has always been known as an all star team.

You missed my point. Did Lockyer ALWAYS have a better squad around him than Marshall during the finals?

I certainly don't think so.

The Broncos only lost one finals game with both Lockyer and Wallace in the team, and it took a brain snap from Sims in the last minute of the game to loose it.

Since 2006, all the finals games the Broncos have lost, bar the above mentioned one, were played without one of the halves. We've had a miserable run with injuries leading up to the finals in the last 5 years...

I'm not going to check this stat, but I love how footy fans can commit the most absurd trivia to absolute recall, even 50 years later at times. Good for you, sir!

Your only argument would be 2005 Tigs.

Personally, I think the 2006 Broncos squad slam dunks that team in a Harlem Globetropper manner.

Heh, really? And yet, the 2005 Broncos were still a superior outfit pre finals to the Tigs.

Add Tate and Thorn to come back into that squad.
Yes I know, Brisbane lost 6 in a row before the finals.

And btw, if LeBron gets a three peat - that is an argument that will raise its head ten fold.

3 months before the finals.

Before the Origin season was over and the Broncos suffered all those timely injuries.

Again, I'd take the 2005 side over some of the sides Lockyer had to play with during the finals.
