NEWCASTLE Jets football director Remo Nogarotto has apparently acted as an intermediary in Harry Kewell's move to Italian club AS Roma.


Kewell is expected to head to Rome next week for a medical.

The Socceroos captain has long been linked to a move to the continent, and after 12 years in England it seems he will finally get his wish.

It is believed Roma coach Luciano Spalletti was alerted to Kewell's enthusiasm for playing in Italy over dinner with Nogarotto three weeks ago.

Nogarotto lives in Rome for six months a year and has developed a close relationship with Spalletti.
He is working on a partnership between the Jets and the Italian club.

Not sure. We are selling Mancini, so there is a left-wing spot free. However it is most likely Vucinic will take that if we keep the current tactics.

I'm not sure if Kewell has the pace anymore to play on the wing, so I'm indifferent about this news. And if he doesn't play on the wing I can't see him anywhere else in the starting #11.

And if he stays fit and plays well, particuarly in the Champions League, the chance of a sale. He'll probably get more game time than if he went to Roma. I'm surprised to, but can see why he would do it.
