Warriors last round against Dragons.
Couldn't beleive that call, worse than replacing a centre.
Doesn't make our rotation any better though, pick a big bench and rotate properly and we win a few.

In the first two years that Sheens was at the Cowboys, he increased the winning percentage from the previous season (although admittedly that wasn't very hard to do). It wasn't really until the 'train crash' of 1999 that he started losing his shine in my eyes, although Jordan and Bernster are absolutely spot-on in their historical assessment of Sheens.

Interestingly, if the Cowboys continue at their present rate, by the time Murray leaves the club, he will be the first Cowboys coach with a winning record:

For purposes of comparison:

Grant Bell (1995) - 2 wins, 20 losses
Graeme Lowe (1996) - 6 wins, 15 losses
Tim Sheens (1997-2001) - 27 wins, 4 draws, 73 losses
Murray Hurst (2001-2002) - 4 wins, 1 draw, 12 losses
Graham Murray (2002- ) - 40 wins, 1 draw, 43 wins

Apoligies for getting the topic off track

If you can find his record at Canberra when he did have some say ---
Some also give him some credit for a lot of what Penrith are right now :)
Good reading http://rl1908.com/Clubs/Penrith-Panthers.htm

Get him a couple of Aussie Players and see then :)

1--Sorry my post, was not an easy read.
2--My main point,I was trying to push, was sheens has a plan and a method to achieve
his goals.but seems unwilling to change them.when things are not working
3--We all know the teams needs some new blood for 2006,but iam talking 2005
4--Both reggie sides are going poorly, but that dosnt mean their are not players, who given
the chance in fg couldnt add somthing to the team

Said for three years that he's lost the plot. Yet to see anything to change that opinion.

Coaches rightly live and die on their wins. For people to say he doesn't miss the tackles or clock off is utter BS of the rankest kind. HE selects the teams with the impact free zone bench, HE fails to even use his hopeless bench in anything like an effective manner by leaving players posted on it until the last 20 of the game and by interchanging outside backs, HE fails to drop underperforming players, HE plays favourites with selections rather than rewarding performance, HE has responsibility to oversee the development of skill, commitment, teamwork etc, etc to make ALL of his players better. On all of these counts and more Sheens has failed.

The man is trading on past results, but the credit is just about run out. Jack Gibson was a hell of a coach back in the day, but I wouldn't want him now. Sheens is waaaaaaaaaay past it, and needs wins not excuses to prove otherwise. The only coach I can think of that has failed to make the semis for more consecutive years is Wayne Pearce. I think that says it all.

Sheens will be our coach for this year and the next, if we fail to make the 8 or have an unsuccessfull season they will look to show him the door.

He may not be the best coach at using his bench but the impact and changes he has made is a HUGE step forward for the club. We have some of the most exciting talent coming through the ranks with the likes of Benji, Farrah, Gibbs, Fulton, etc. and a chance to get some much needed marquee players for next year.

The work that he has done on our discipline is another major positive for the club, compare our record at the judiciary and penalty count since Sheens took over. Unless players are injured we generally have our full squad to choose from. I also think that if it wasn't for Sheens Gibbs would not be as polished as he is. I think with a lot of other coaches, a kid that plays like he does, he would have found himself at the judiciary and then the sidelines more than he would on the field.

At this stage he has my support.

the argument has been put forward that their is no presure comming from the lower grades.Last season Fulton spent most of the season,in a very average wests reserve grade.Given the chance in better company this year,he has been a shinning light. So lets see what greally, mercer and co can do at a higher level. With the likes of Prince and Marshall to put them into gaps

Fulton spent a year in an average reserve grade side and excelled. None of the reserve grade players are excelling currently.

If he's playing favourites, he's no good as a coach. But if that was the case, there'd be no team harmony, but there certainly appears to be.

However good a coach or otherwise he is, he's better than Nathan Brown. How does a side with that much talent play so crap?

Just saw sheens team for the sharks clash posted on another site. Now i know he has lost it. I think the guy is after a pay out. He has picked his love child again, D fitzhenry and dropped fulton to the bench. The guys has lost a lot of credibility with the Tiger army, sure we all wanted changes but changes with the future in mind and not yesterday.

Well, I support Sheens totally but the decision to stick Fitzhenry on the wing again is a mystery. If it was the wing in PL I'd understand. I'd prefer to see him at prop than on the wing again. He is a god awful winger.

Mr Sheens is fine...its his forwards that have gone soft. Last week's performance was attrocious. Smashed in the middle of the park and leaky heartless defence.

Agree about the forwards, but Sheens' constant selection decisions are off the planet.

The dropping of Matthew Rieck for Fitzhenry this weekend just takes the cake. Absolutely disgraceful...

Something has happened with Rieck I feel. Just from some of the stuff people have said. Shame they won't share with the rest of us.

Well until they do, or until the club or Sheens makes a statement regarding the matter, Rieck's dropping was a disgraceful decision...
