considering how many better players than those we signed, were on the market and available to sign, I think people have a right to complain.

We have managed to sign a few decent signings, nothing ground breaking.

I fail to believe the Head signing was pre-meditated, that was fluke me thinks.

yeah, he just tripped over and signed the contract

Mate the signings are all good but im very dissapointed that we let Galea go, he was in my opinion one of our best

Lets hope this happens

With the interchange now being reduced our forward pack is going to be so much more effective as they will be much more mobile towards the end of the game.... teams like the Roosters are gonna struggle big time as are the Cowboys.

I saw Ben Teo at Concord on Saturday and he tells me they being pushed hard at trainging, he has thrown up a few times he says hahahahah

Has that interchange reduction been confirmed yet??

I found this in a Foxsports article.

That next level remains the great unknown. The idea still needs to be ratified next month by the Rugby League International Federation before it becomes an experimental rule in the NRL but if that happens, as expected, it will reshape the way coaches approach a game.

So you honestly believe management had every intention to sign Matthew Head for 08?

You'd be the only one.

They may not of planned to sign him for 08 BUT you cant sign a guy till he is on the market and soon as he was they jumped on him, what more could they do ?

We make good signings and still people whinge about management.

Well considering there was supposed to three big signings before Matt Head signing, and once that date passed all we had seen were two ok signings, it seems they were frantic to sign someone, luckily for everyone involved, Matt Head arrived.

It was a flukey sign.

Youre a flip...more a case of him expected to stay in Europe, every other club filling their cap and completeing their player roster except us, head having a change of heart and decides to try NRL again, knocks back mega bucks fro Les catalan, and opts for the only club (bar Bulldogs who showed minimal interest in him) us, on a minaml contract.

Wether it be luck or whatever, my point is when someone quality like Head became available they were able to sign him... it may not of been in their plans but when the opportunity presented itself they grabbed it.. im sure everyone would of been whinging bout management if they hadnt of got him... but they did and people still arnt happy hahaha Im not complaing we finally have a half back no matter how he came to us.

I dont watch sports tonight, it was the afternoon news.

Do you believe we'd be right to whinge if head hadn't come available?

For once i am going to agree with you, i would of spit chips if they had of lost out on getting Head and i think we all would of had a right to whinge.

But they didnt miss out..... so im happy :)

They didn't miss out because of a fluke signing in Head.
Your last post all but admits that.

Thus, it shows the incompetence of our management in regards to recruitment.

People are jumping around like we signed three internationals.
1--we picked up a handy interchange player from the drags
2--we picked up a winger who has struggled to hold down a fg spot a three clubs
3--and we signed a player who best games were nearly three years ago with massive
question marks on his knees.

Now they will all probably walk into our FG squad and be handy pick ups but I dont see them taking us to far down the road to glory.

Head I do see as a good mentor for the young no7 at the club

the one thing I like about Head are some of his trick moves off the boot. I hope we can see him and Lawrence team up and deliver some great tries.

Pretty good reality check.

We shouldn't make space in the trophy cabinet just yet

We should now be safe from the spoon at least
Unless shines and sizzler really work their magic

Don't be so sure.... a few injuries to the key positions or backs could see some sort of lineup like this:

1. McDonnell
2. Bradley-Qalilawa
3. Saleh
4. Carlaw
5. Moodie

6. Reynolds
7. Morris

9. Fitzhenry

with Clarke on stand-by...
