Carney in Goulburn for some pre season training, notice Croker in the background.

^ Dedicated. Professional. The bloke epitomises common sense. You know you're getting a thinker - a real student - with Todd, that's what I like about the guy.

Carney has been on the Coast with friends since he returned from a holiday in Thailand on Wednesday, yet club officials last night confirmed there had been no dialogue with the troubled star.
Carney was spotted at Surfers Paradise nightclub Shooters on Wednesday night, but appeared well behaved.
You can almost heart the hearts of DT journos breaking after having to type the words 'well behaved' in an article about a footy player.
Titans heavyweights privately believe Carney is headed to the Cronulla Sharks or South Sydney Rabbitohs.
"Our deal doesn't match with what is being offered elsewhere, it's really just an option if he wants a change of lifestyle," said the source.
Yep because a 'change of lifestyle' from drinking and partying too much is to go live on the Gold Coast...
Upon returning from Thailand, Carney said he would "make a decision next week" on his plans for 2012.
Partying in Thailand...partying on the Gold Coast... next week he decides if he wants to do Bali or the Cross.

I'd still happily take the risk on him at Souths...

Carney to the rabbitohs for 1 year with another 1 year option in our souths favour. That is the word on the street

I'd be happy with that. At worst it's just a 1 season commitment if things don't work out.

If things do work out and he does play like a Dally M medallist we have a second season of an elite spine player while basically paying him peanuts and in 2014 we'll have the capspace to pay him properly.

Minimum risk to bring us closer to #21.

And as a bonus...our leagues club will have a top customer when it opens.

IF it happens, Carney at his best would make Inglis much more dangerous. Carney at his best is one of the elite players of the comp.

If we get Carney we have more potential in 2012 then we did in 2011. On top of that, a competent coach, and you have yourself a serious top 4/premiership contender. That is IF we get Carney and IF the Carney we get plays like 'Carney at his best'. We will be up there with Melbourne as premiership favourites.

Shouldn't Carney be working on that so called "alcoholism" he had, when he got into trouble the second last time at the Roosters ?

Surely if the NRL have enough of a backbone they will make him meet some requirements before he is allowed to sign with an NRL club; because after all he hurts the NRL and its brand with every bad thing he does.

I don't think the NRL could legally stop him from drinking in the offseason. And according to the papers he was well behaved this week at the nightclubs he went to. As long as he behaves himself there's little any outside party can do, alcoholism or no alcoholism.

 For sure.

If Carney goes to Souffs he will be forever scum. Do the right thing Todd. Win Cronulla a premiership.
