Geeze , your one hot looking lady .
Your not related to that movie star , Veronica Lake are you ?

Don't go worrying your pretty little head luv , will take Dessie of your hands , just as long as you are part of the deal ! ;)

Gareth, now what did the doctor tell you about the 'mind writing cheques your body cannot cash'.. Especially on days like this.

If Hasler can somehow bring Klemmer with him that will literally be all we need to challenge the top 4.

Coach - check
Halves - check
Strong pack - check
Hooker - (hopefully) check
Backs - check

Haven't heard that one for a while , but your fairly close to the mark . However seeing as my Ethel is away for the week , I thought that I could dream a little .

All good old mate... dreaming and optimism is in the DNA of the dragon faithful.. just unfortunate that those dreams have tended towards the nightmare end of the scale lately.

Whilst we will be treading water for the year... we can only hope that the peanut does not do any further damage to the kids of the future whilst he is still here..

I really do think the 'embryo' is there for a couple of decent years ahead .. just need to get rid of the 'rotten egg' that's there now.

Yes TOTS , you are right on all counts . And we are not the only ones whom believe that HE , could possibly do more harm than good , to those younger players that promise so much. Far better to sow good seed into good soil , then into bad , only to watch it wilt and die .

There is indeed a very good nucleus of juniors waiting for their talents to be nurtured .
However it can only be done by a coach with the right experience and also patience .

I do however believe that this will be his last season . Just who the next coach will be ,
I have no idea , but he must be an upgrade to the one we have at present .

Am not a fan of Hasler. Both Manly and the Bulldogs has very strong before he coached them.

Bulldogs despite having a fantastic pack of forwards have failed to unseat Melbourne/Brisbane/Cowboys.

Would prefer someone capable of nurturing the juniors. We have several homegrown products that could be anything under the right coach.

I would prefer Cleary or Demetriou or Nathan Brown should he become available. I believe they would transition the current crop of top line juniors in to FG.

Completely disagree. When Hasler took over Manly in 04 they had just split the merger and the club was in complete disarray. He then built the team up to the point where they made consecutive grand finals winning one of them in 08 and then resetting and winning another in 11.

When he took over the dogs, they had finished well outside the 8 under Moore in 11. He developed a game to take advantage of their size and pack which was completely different to the style that his Manly team played and won the minor premiership and took the team to the Grand final.

Hasler and Bellamy are the most successful coaches of the past decade.
Would prefer someone capable of nurturing the juniors.
As for nurturing juniors, who do you think nurtured Foran and DCE amongst others at Manly?

A few points here:

1. Cleary rejected the club last season, and Demetriou is highly unlikely to uproot his family from Queensland so soon after departing the Cowboys at the end of 2015. He is gone and I suspect he will be Brisbane's long term coach once Bennett hangs up his clipboard.

2. I wanted Brown to return at the end of 2015. He is a far more experienced coach since he left in 2008, and would be someone capable of rebuilding the Dragons (although there's a lot of merit in getting an 'outsider').

If the story of Hasler coaching us is true, that will most likely mean that we get Noel Cleal as our recruitment officer. That could be another positive of signing Hasler.

It has been reported that Hasler will be coaching Saints in 2018 in quite a few questionable sites.
I am sure the coaching team and management have seen or heard these stories/rumours.
What do you think Mary's attitude to coaching this year will be, will he try to get the team to perform better to enhance his coaching credentials or his is dead man walking and doesn't give a shit

All correct.

Hasler is a good coach, one of the best in the game. But not even he and an awesome pack of forwards will go far when you have the wrong players in key positions. Lichaa, Mbye, Reynolds and Hopoate are probably a worse spine than ours. Their attack was as bad as ours.

He did win 2 comps at Manly when he had the likes of Orford, Stewart, DCE, Foran, Lyon etc pulling the strings. Proper spine players who know how to play footy.

Hasler is a good coach but he's not a miracle worker. If he does come in 2018, with a possible spine containing Hunt, Field, Dufty, Mann etc, there are endless possibilities.
