Looks like hayne really wants hat fullback spot and wih Burt at the helm looks like he will no doubt leave the club.

you reckon? I personaly believe he'll stay..infact I'm extremely confident he'll stay, this sort of talk goes on with player managers every time.

very true eelavation i might be wrong but can we really see us paying $350,000 fo a winger????

Also if he gets a fullback role at another club then why wouldnt he leave? I mean the tigers might be looking for a fullback if hodgo leaves

It's not the playters who are greedy..it's the managers.
For every extra dollar they can squeeze out of a Club, they get 6 cents....
Pity if an incident like Luke O'Donnell's happens to Jarryd before he signs a new contract. That's the gamble they take....

We currently have, and always have in the past, and always have quality wingers coming throught the juniors. If he wants the big bucks let him go. Maybe we could send Reddy too as a package!!!

He's good but he aint THAT good.

We need a Prop.

JayJay - Why does Twizzle hate you so much!?!?!?

I don't see hayne leaving, infact i see him staying as our fullback even when burt returns, if we are playing well then why would you move hayne? this is his chance to show every club he has what it takes at fullback and if he does have it, then why would we move him. Yeah burt is in outstanding form, but if it aint broken dont fix it.

jayjay have you missed the many posts by myself and others on both forums that state that the club view jarryd as our long term fullback.

hayne wants the position but has apparently been happy playing on the wing waiting for the opportunity. michael hagan has also stated that jarryd may be used as a centre in the future. the guy is more than just a winger and is worth more than any specialist winger in the comp.

But I'm sure we'll re-sign him. I mean, with Tahu gone, that number 4 jersey surely will be his...Right? :?
inu will be getting tahu's jersey, but hayne will be getting tahu's money lol

Yes he is that good. Jarryd is not just a winger and is only 19 years old. This article doesnt surpirse or worry me tho. His manager wouldnt be doing his job if he didnt talk like this.

Jarryd wants the big bucks because he is worth it and deserves it, yeah we have alot of good back coming through the ranks, but none like hayne. He will be playing for Australia and NSW for a long time, i dont think every one of our backs do that

the Tigers themselves have their work cutout trying to upgrade the likes of Chris Lawrence, Dean Collis, Tanilia Tuaki, Beau Ryan and the like which is the reason why they may be releasing Hoidgo..

inglis is on 400k as he covers anywhere from 1 to 6...
if jarryd wants to demand that coin he needs to do the same!
i know for a fact hayne is keen to be at parra...

I'd pay him 350k without blinking.

The game is all about tries, and there is NO question that Hayne 'sniffs' them out as well as anyone. Should be brilliant at fullback with more freedom to hang around the ruck - and especially following Cayless (when he's back).

Under the current salary cap, your AVERAGE player payment should be 164k --> which means if we sign Hayne to 350, then we're looking at 2 other players earning 71k, and everything is averaged out (or 3 other players on 102k)

That's 2 or 3 other players in the top 25 - and I'm confident that we could easily enough ink a couple of guys in that price range. You'd think Reddy would be about 80k, Burt maybe around 150 and then throw in a total reserve like Williams for about 50-60 (max 70), and it's all fine to pay the big bucks to Hayne!

The cap will most likely slide up in the next few seasons anyway - it was a small increase this year, look for a bigger one and 'loyalty bonuses' etc to start appearing - Haynes 350k will start looking smaller in 3 years time!

Yep, not suprised to hear his manager talk this way. I think Parra knew thay would need some serious coint to keep him. Thats whay we haven't signed anybody from out side the squad. Hayne and INU are priority signing's.

That may be correct but the only time this club has been succesful has been when we kept all our juniors together.

Mind you in saying that it's not as easy to keep all your players together as it was in the early eighties when a couple of hundred bucks and a carton of piss was considered good pay for a game of football.
