I apologize for some of the people in this thread and welcome you back Hayne as an INNOCENT man. I honestly think he could run on at the weekend and make a similar impact as several of our players not even joking

Is Jarryd still with his wife.

I'll tell you what she has been pretty loyal sticking by him considering the mess this has been for the past 6 years.

Considering he played up as well.

It's almost a bigger shame he didn't meet her and had a kid when he was younger he might have pulled his head in a lot earlier and focused on his footy a lot more if he had to start worry about providing for his family and kids.

Everyone will look back at Jarryd differently in there own opinions.

But individually he did some freakish things and despite winning 2 x Dally Ms he will most likely still be looked as a wasted talent.

Maybe if we won in 2009 things could be looked at a lot differently but I suppose Hayne said it best when he left for the NFL he achieved everything in the game so winning a premiership late in his career wasn't high on the priority list.

I presume they're still together based on media articles re Hayne's release and whereabouts.

And yes, if so, she has been amazingly loyal considering all of the circumstances.

Perhaps they are just happy through adversity via their bible or something? Hayne went on a religious pilgrimage straight after the previous US claims surfaced.

Anyone who wasn’t playing for Melbourne between 2006 and 2015. was a wasted talent.
He honestly should have left the club for a roosters or broncos in about 2011.

I think of Hayne as the same as Brett Kenny in terms of natural brilliant football talent. Hayne did a bit better than Kenny in crappy team’s (Kenny 87-92) - but Kenny played in a great era from 81-86.

The civil case against Hayne returned to court today for a directions hearing. One week adjournment agreed, and due back in court next week to set the hearing date - if the two parties can't come to an agreed settlement beforehand.

The article says she lodged this civil case in August 2021, so the girl has been waiting three years for this to be heard.

Hes not guilty “ beyond a reasonable doubt” which means she still has to fight to prove he is culpable for whatever she alleges in her suit “on the balance of probabilities” being a lower standard.

Then I guess that she has to prove that she has suffered loss she can substantiate.

She would have had an easier time if he’d been found guilty.

As we know, Bruce went back for his hat but I think Haynsey is being dragged into the hallway to claim his.

Well, the DPP decided not to undertake the retrial that the 3rd(?) appeal judgment indicated was open to them.

So yes, not proved guilty beyond reasonable doubt in criminal cases, but still open to being found guilty on balance of probabilities in the civil case.

I expect Hayne's team will be attempting a settlement here, as per the civil case against him for similar allegations in the US.

For those playing at home, the matter is listed

In legal terms, the phrase by her tutor means that the person identified as EFG is not representing herself but is instead being represented by another person (referred to as HIJ, aka the tutor) who acts on her behalf.

Interestingly this happens when a oerson involved is either a minor or someone who is not legally capable of representing themselves, such as a person with a disability or impairment. Sometimes the impairment can simply be that she is incommunicable. The tutor is responsible for making legal decisions and representing her interests in the case.

They should try to settle it, but he was wrongly convicted, reputation in tatters spent time in gaol and he won’t exactly be in a hurry to cough up a lot without a compelling reason.

If you read the actual appeal judgement, I don't believe it expresses the reasons the appeal was successful in quite those terms... when making the decision that Hayne could be subject to a new (4th) trial.

Agree it's very much in Hayne's interest to settle it, just in case the lower civil "balance of probability" case threshold presents him with more problems than the criminal "beyond reasonable doubt" threshold has already presented him.

No conviction so in accordance with the rule of law, he’s an innocent man and entitled to that

All things considered, he was brave and courageous in the face of vile and senseless persecution by the state of nsw.

The fact that he is a muppet is neither here nor there.

Yes, definitely given the DPP decided not to pursue the 4th trial. But that doesn't equate to wrongly convicted.

That's an opinion, to which you're entitled.
The fact that he is a muppet is neither here nor there.
Also an opinion, but I agree with your indication of Hayne's muppetry - and that it's neither here nor there.

He is a bit of a muppet based on what we know happened - but she is equally, it would appear, a dirty girl.
So not sure what the damages are. She wasn’t tracking towards a success career. At least as far as I know.

Apparently the US Civil case cost Hayne a settlement of almost $100,000AU for it to go away, so time will tell.
